Assistant Professor
Dr. Jaehoon Hwang is an Assistant Professor in the area of Environmental Engineering at Concordia University. Dr. Hwang received his BS, MS, and Ph.D. at Yonsei University in South Korea. Before coming to Concordia University, he served as a postdoctoral research fellow at Arizona State University (2014-2015) and University of Central Florida (2015-2022), as well as an adjunct professor (2021-2022) at the University of Central Florida. Dr. Hwang also worked as a senior process engineer in the industry (2022-2023).
Dr. Hwang has gained more than 15 years of research experience in industrial and academic environment, exploring water-energy nexus and resource recovery, CO2 neutralization, high bio-alcohol production, smart water management based on real time monitoring using microsensor and machine learning, and nanomaterial application for emerging contaminant removal.
