09.05.24 ASDA Community Champions Donation
When we reached out to our wonderful neighbours at Asda Halbeath they were only too keen to support the staff who often visit the store during lunch breaks or on their way home from work!
The lovely Barbara met me with a trolley of goodies ranging from wild flowers seeds, compost to a beautiful little acer tree. They are being looked after by Health Promotion until the perfect spot is found for them. Things are happening folks!
10.04.24 Greenspace Consultation Survey Report
The consultation period ran throughout the month of March with 695 suggestions shared by 120 participants. The responses were coded by recurring themes and a report has been published - the findings will be shared here. I want to take the opportunity to thank everyone who completed the online survey or came to the stands for a chat. Without your input we wouldn't have the insight into your wellbeing needs and the needs of the people you work with, who either visit or live here at Lynebank.

29.02.24 akin by Colin Andrews - Oak Tree Installation
akin is a long-term, large scale, participatory, public artwork in which oak trees are being planted across the region of Fife, to create a ‘future forest’. The project began in 2013 and is intended to be realised and continued many years into our shared future.
As well as the environmental and well-being implications of creating a forest of the future, the intention of akin is to engage the residents and communities of Fife to create a collective symbol of empowerment, commitment, and sustainability through individual acts of nurture, stewardship, and reflection.
Two hundred oak trees, grown and nurtured, by the artist, Colin Andrews, from acorns originally gathered in Fife, are to be re-planted across the region. The acorns were collected and planted in the autumn of 2013 so the young trees are now almost 10 years old. During 2023 and 2024 these trees are being gifted, by the artist, to individuals, families, community groups, institutions, and businesses, across the region, who will then plant and undertake the stewardship of these trees in the gardens, parks, common lands and green spaces of the Kingdom of Fife. In this physical act of connection, participation, growth, and nurture, akin is intended as a symbol of hope and commitment to the future.
Lynebank Hospital is lucky enough to have one of 12 oak trees planted across NHS Fife sites.
