personality

VICTOR GIVES AN IMPRESSION TO ALL WHO MEET HIM OF TOTAL ENIGMA AND UTTER OMINOSITY. VICTOR IS SOMETHING OF A GRUFF AND ALOOF SORT OF PERSON WHEN HE'S NOT WITH HIS IMMEDIATE INNER CIRCLE OF FRIENDS. HE DOESN'T TEND TO BE OUTGOING AND OFTEN SEEMS TO BE WEARING A FROWN, WHICH DOESN'T HELP OPEN CONVERSATIONS WITH STRANGERS. HE TENDS TO CHERISH HIS PRIVACY AND DOESN'T APPRECIATE PEOPLE POKING THEIR NOSES INTO HIS PERSONAL LIFE. HE KNOWS THAT A LOT OF WHAT HE'S DONE IS STILL WRONG, BUT EVEN SO, HE DOESN'T LIKE TO TALK ABOUT IT.

VICTOR REVELS IN CHAOS. HE LIKES GETTING PEOPLE TO THINK ABOUT THEIR LIVES AND ACTIONS, SEEING THEM SQUIRM WITH THE SMALL AND SAFE BOX THEY'VE CORNERED THEMSELVES INTO. HE LIKES TO MAKE PEOPLE THINK. THERE IS NO BLACK AND WHITE, OR GOOD VERSUS EVIL, IN HIS BOOK IN THE ENTIRE SCHEME OF THINGS, JUST SMALL BATTLES THAT YOU HAVE TO OVERCOME AND CONSIDER ON A DAILY BASIS. HE UNDERSTANDS CORRUPTION, SILENCE, CONFORMITY, AND THE COMFORTS OF IT, AND LIKES TO SHAKE THINGS UP A BIT TO CHANGE PEOPLE OUT OF THEIR HABITS AND SEE THE OTHER SIDE FOR A CHANGE. BUT, THIS DOESN'T MAKE HIM EVIL. WHEN SOMEONE IS TRYING TO GET SOMETHING GOOD DONE, DEPENDING ON HOW HE FEELS, HE MAY JOIN IN ON THAT SIDE OF THE BATTLE. CHAOS HAS NO COLOR. CHAOS HAS NO MASTER. IT CONTROLS ALL IN THE BIGGER PICTURE OF THINGS AND THAT IS WHAT HE TRIES TO GET ACROSS.

THE BOOK OF R'LYEH

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Duo Reges: constructio interrete. Tu enim ista lenius, hic Stoicorum more nos vexat.

eldritch magic

This forbidden form of magic, originally known as the Unknown Way, refers to the form of magic that draws upon eldritch forces from the space between universes. Only very experienced sorcerers are able to communicate with these eldritch terrors that inhabit these "interdimensional" spaces and appeal to them for assistance. To invoke the aid of these otherworldly beings (also referred to as the Great Old Ones, Outer Gods, Old Ones, etc) such as Shuma-Gorath, Cyttorak, Shub-Niggurath or Nyog' Sothep, etc a sorcerer must learn complex incantations and master subtle gestures in order to increase the chances of receiving a positive response. The more powerful the entity (or the less powerful the sorcerer) the more complicated the ritual of invocation becomes. Because of this, Victor is in possession of a dark and forbidden form of knowledge that was never meant for mortals to know. This kind of information ranges from being scientific, magical and eldritch in nature.

semi-immortality

Because of his connection to eldritch entities and constant dabbling in arcane forces beyond comprehension, Victor's body doesnt age at all, so much so that despite being born in the 1930's, he still looks in his prime. Though he can still be killed and even physically wounded, he cannot succumb to any medical diseases, terrestrial poisons, nor does he decay. However, he still requires food, water, oxygen, and sleep, the same as a normal human.

forbidden knowledge

Victor is in possession of a dark and forbidden form of knowledge that was never meant for mortals to know. This kind of information can range from being scientific, magical or eldritch in nature and can give him access to techniques far beyond human comprehension, not unlike the knowledge bestowed upon him. This affords a connection with outer worldly entities on a subconscious level, either communicating with them verbally or indirectly, i.e., mentally, emotionally, physiologically and the like.

Because of the exposure to such knowledge, the inner workings of his mind differ greatly from what could be considered "normal" or "sane" by the standards of most living things. This condition has several beneficial effects, as the differences between Victor's mind and normal people gives him immunity to mental or dream based powers. Powers such as Telepathy or Mind Control will at best, not work on him, and at worst, backfire. Anyone foolish enough to invade his Inner World will find it an uninhabitable deathtrap.

incantation & Gestures Dependency

Victor also depends on spoken incantations, mystical gesturing, and his arcane artifacts in his duties; likely these can be counted as weaknesses. Victor has been incapacitated various times by being gagged and bound, preventing him from uttering arcane invocations or performing mystic gestures. Breaking his hands can greatly cripple his magic ability for instance.

human factor

Another weakness is that Victor, despite all his spells and magical training, is only human physically. Hence, if not taking proper care or defenses, Victor can be overpowered by mere blows, energy attacks, or gas. While technically immortal per se, he still must eat, sleep and breathe in order to survive.

time & rest

After tapping into otherworldly forces extensively, Victor needs to rest. He cannot fight for long periods of time, his magic is so complex and enigmatic that every time he uses it, it changes him. No science or magic can explain this change but its definitely happening on a physical, mental and spiritual level. And every time this change occurs, he looses a piece of himself (soul), causing him experience extreme exhaustion and sudden delirium.

However, because it is known that the continual use of such forces will fatally deplete him by consuming his life force, he must be cautious as to how much he pushes himself as he can die any minute.

wings of needless sorrow

The Wings of Needless Sorrow is a powerful talisman created by the extra-dimensional Great Old Ones before humans walked the Earth. The main function of the Wings of Needless Sorrow is the absorption and redirection of various energies. Magical attacks thrown at its wielder will be siphoned, causing the attacks to considerably weaken in potency. In turn, the talisman will strengthen its wielder's magical assaults. The Wings of Needless Sorrow is capable of enhancing the negative emotions of those within relative proximity. It is revealed that the Wings of Needless Sorrow can also be used to summon forth the Great Old Ones from their other-dimensional realms.

Crytorryk-Sar’s Chains of the Crimson Dawn

Mystical chains forged from the bones of Crytorryk-Sar and dipped in the blood endless sea of the dimension known as the Crimson Dawn. While sentient, the chain obeys Victor's mental commands. When inactive it will link to itself in a loop so that it can be worn as an accouterments to his clothing/costume. The chain is capable of mystically extending to greater lengths. Its upper limits are unknown. The chain's basic use is in the form of a kusarigama whereby the bladed head is whipped around to strike targets at close range. With the chain gripped at one end, the other can be used to ensnare a target in a manner similar to a lasso.
