Making Waves in the Midwest


Great Lakes Ultrasound Consortium is a collaboration of Midwest point-of-care ultrasound programs. The purpose of the group is to promote shared research, education and development of initiatives among the programs in the Great Lakes Area.

Mission:

To collaborate as ultrasound leaders from major academic medical centers to promote the use and education of bedside ultrasound in clinical and academic medicine.


Vision:

Pursue clinical excellence with the use of bedside ultrasound for diagnostic and therapeutic in the practice of medicine:

1. Promote the application of ultrasound into clinical care

2. Promote collaboration in ultrasound education

3. Promote collaboration of ultrasound program administration

4. Promote collaboration into ultrasound research

5. Promote mentorship of ultrasound faculty


Values:

· Ultrasound is beneficial to patient care yet is not yet optimally utilized in patient care.

· Work with consortium to improve patient safety, improve diagnostic accuracy and timely care.
