Why does Eric officiate football? This is a passion that I love to do, it keeps me active in the game and a great way to give back to the players in my community. Ken Mosely recruited me many years ago just for a side job and to make a little extra money. I quickly fell in love with it and never looked back!
Gregg Lee - Executive Secretary / Assignor

Primary - Referee
Secondary - Umpire
Other sports officiating - Baseball
Why does Gregg officiate football? I’ve loved the game of football since I was in diapers playing out in the yard with my dad. When I started teaching in 1998, football was one of the sports I loved to coach. Johnny Champion recruited me to come try officiating football, and being active on the field as part of the game made me love it even more. So in 2003, the course of my life in football changed. I’ve made so many friends being an official and love giving back to the players and communities around the area. I look forward when we start our meetings in July so I can see a lot of the officials that has helped me become a better official over the years and a better person!

Why does Aaron officiate football? I love the game of football and the ability to help make the game possible for the younger generations. The friendships I have made among other officials is something I will cherish forever and that is what keeps me coming back each season.
Brien Phillips - Treasurer
18 Years Officiating
State Championship Official 2024
Primary - Head Linesman
Other sports officiating - Baseball and Basketball (31 years)
Why does Brien officiate football? I got into officiating football after being asked by guys that I called baseball and basketball with. The year after I started, I moved to Boaz, AL and met up with some great officials that called football as well and invited me to join their association. The friendships that I have built over the years keep me coming back each year. Friday nights are more than officiating football; it is a time to fellowship with a band of brothers and sisters. There is nothing like it anywhere else!
Lee Sims - At Large Board Member

Primary - Umpire
Secondary - Referee

Why does Lee officiate football? It is fun being around these kids and coaches while they learn valuable life lessons. I enjoy the atmosphere and especially giving back to the community. Alot of these kids don't have anyone to look up to, and I want them to know that I am here for them, not the fans or coaches, but for the kids to have the ability to play the game that they love.
