The Homestead

The Homestead was one of the premises on the route from Greasby village centre to Saughall Massie. It stood just past the cattle market stock pens which were demolished to make way for the by-pass. Initially built by the Realey family (the datestone shows 1913) by the 1930s it was occupied by the Pullens. Village children would be sent to the Homestead for eggs and the path to there became informally known as Pullens Lane, the Side Path, Dragonfly Lane or the Old Lane. The farm also sold goats' milk.
