Kavanagh's Gents' Hairdresser
& the missing half of the semi-detached

90 Greasby Road formerly Kavanagh's Gents' Hairdresser

Nº 90 Greasby Road used to be Kavanagh's Gents' Hairdresser.  The building is only half of what it used to be.  The 1955 map (produced before the numbering of Greasby Road buildings) shows it named as Mersey View; a semi-detached structure with its 'other half' on Nº 90's west wall.  In front of the 'other half' was a single storey shop - Rowe's General Store.  At an unknown date the 'other half' and the shop were demolished.  The reason for demolishing half of a semi-detached is unknown.  The site of the 'other half' is now the bookmaker's premises.

For an unknown reason the right side of the building was demolished along with the single-storey shop.

On this photo everything to the right of the red line was demolished.

Two photos taken from the same position.  The single storey shop and the right hand half of the semi-detached premises have been demolished.  The bookmaker's business stands on the site of the missing residence.
