What is GRAVITY+? Watch here for a recent overview by PI Frank Eisenhauer.
We look forward to welcoming you to a virtual GRAVITY+ community workshop on Feb 24 (afternoon CET) and 25 (morning CET), 2021. The workshop goals are to highlight the capabilities of GRAVITY+, solicit community input on the science uniquely enabled by the instrument, and engage with potential users with and without previous experience with interferometry.
8 February: deadline for registration and abstract submission
24 - 25 February: virtual workshop (held on Zoom)
Gravity+ was recently recommended by the ESO STC as the top priority instrument upgrade for the VLT. Phase A commenced in January 2021. GRAVITY+ will transform interferometric capabilities of the VLTI by enhancing the sensitivity to K=18 mag on-axis or K=22 mag off-axis with Laser Guide Stars on all UTs and will allow phase referencing over an unprecedentedly large field of >30” (compared to currently 2”). For more information, please see the GRAVITY+ white paper.
