While you aren’t expected to post a novel players don’t want a one sentence post either. The content of your post is what matters most. It’s important to put some effort into your posts to make them believable and a lot easier to understand. If your posts don’t convey much then don’t expect to be taken seriously.
Keep OOC chatter in OOC TEXT ROOMS forms chat rooms to a minimum the use of ((ooc brackets)).
Approach people chat for role play, don’t wait around for someone to come to you. You will have significantly more activity if you seek it and a good role player will appreciate your approach. You’ve got nothing to lose!
Always respect a player’s limits! You never know why they are there in the first place. But also be reasonable with your own limits. If your character is nearly untouchable you will discourage at least half or more of all role play towards yourself. Limits should be there to protect you from potentially mentally harmful/disturbing scenarios, not to protect your character.
It’s recommended that you mirror your limits if you have them, as it would be unfair to for example chop off Tom’s hand when your limits disallow your own character’s hand from being chopped off. We suggest setting limits in your profile picks.
Don’t take personal (ooc) offense to the words or actions of another character. This is an opportunity not a personal attack. Chances are they would rather see you laugh about it than get offended oocly. No great story is complete without conflict.
NO ERP IN GROUP KEEP I MEAN KEEP IN IM’S, nude in role-play ok as joke or with no photos or in bath house it also okay. Kissing or nuzzling ok, but no full on sex scene or no touching of lower parts. we don’t know what age group joining. ALSO NO Sexual role-play with anyone with Under age tags people at all. They are underage or role-play as a kid. If you must look for people with 18+ tag and private massage them if they wish to.
ERP or erotic roleplay is not a focus in Gra Vi and should not be the priority focus of players here.
Keep in mind that your actions have consequences. If you attack someone you might end up in jail or worse. If you instigate or tease a villain you might find yourself in trouble. If you take something from someone, you might have something taken from you. Never start something with the idea that you will never allow them an opportunity for revenge or justice. That’s just poor sportsmanship and potentially powergaming.
Give people time to post and be aware of your own time. We suggest not taking longer than 10-15 minutes to post if it can be helped. But remember this isn’t a requirement! Some players have language barriers, there could be medical issues at play, and some simply want to take the time to give you the best possible response. However, avoid holding someone up because you are distracted with something else unless it has been discussed.
Side note If you need go afk (for whatever reason like need to eat dinner or go bathroom) you have to role-play you pass out or sleeping or exit role-play. It unfair to pause role-play when so many want to hop in a channel, so please in the event you need to go for few second please make reason why you not answering in case something pop up and you take evening longer to get back. Please i mean please role-play a reason why your character no longer active.
EVERYONE IMPORTANT -Never forget that the story is about everyone. The more you make others feel important and include their plots, the more encouraged people to engage with you and further your own plots.
Role play isn’t a contest it’s cooperative story building. Trying to “win” everything will earn you nothing worth having in the RP universe. No one wins and gets away with everything every time.
Do not disrespect or try to correct player characters in ooc chat towards what you deem tasteful, this is toxic behavior.
EG: “ Werewolves are weak to silver so your dead.” or “ That not how to use a gun, you shot a gun not hit people head.”
Don’t try to fix player character’s flaws. Good players have flaws in place for a reason, while it’s okay to offer help towards a character issue, never try to force a change to their character that they may not want.
