Brian has been a musician almost all his life, but his love for bluegrass mandolin began in 2021 when he spotted a mandolin hanging on the wall at his father-in-laws house. intrigued, he borrowed it for a couple months, before long he was hooked. Since then he has developed a passion for this style of music and brings a hard driving steady mandolin and strong lead vocals to the band.
Brian's passion for bluegrass has played a key role in shaping David and Julia's love for this music, both of whom now play in the band. In addition to Grassy Creek he plays with the Monroe Troubadours and leads jams for the East Tennessee Bluegrass association. When he's not on stage he works as a park ranger in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, his love for nature and music often go hand and hand.
Julia picked up the Bass in 2022 not long after her dad started playing the mandolin. After learning some of the basics from him, she quickly developed love for the instrument and a deep passion for bluegrass music. Attending East Tennessee Bluegrass Association jams has played a big role in her growth and helping her gain the confidence to become a strong musician.
At just 16, Julia has already has incredible opportunities in the bluegrass world, including performing with the kids on bluegrass program and playing with five different bands at IBMA. Known for her rock-solid timing and high harmony and lead singing, she brings a steady drive to the bands sound. Whether it's holding down the beat on the bass or singing harmony, Julia is dedicated to keeping bluegrass alive.
David started playing guitar in 2022 and you'd never guess it by listening to him. With Tony Rice and Jake Workman as his main influences he's mastered many of their breaks note for note. His skill isn't just limited to the fretboard, David is also a standout baritone singer, always ready to jump in on harmony. In 2024 and 2025 he earned a scholarship to Kaufman Kamp where he learned from some of the best guitarists in bluegrass.
he brings an authentic and powerful sound to the group, pushing the band forward with every strum and adding something special to every song.
Accompanying the Eversole's is Ashton Murray on the banjo. Ashton was born on the day Earl Scruggs passed away and it's no surprise that Scruggs style banjo is in his blood. At just 13, he's already been playing for 8 years and is deeply dedicated to his instrument. His hard driving, traditional banjo has allowed him to place in multiple competitions and many on stage opportunities.
In 2024 the band was introduced to Ashton by their friend and his mentor, Jeff Dawson. His Scruggs style picking makes him the perfect fit for traditional bluegrass and Grassy Creek.
