Here, we'll tell you how to remove the white, solid color, or checkered background from the vector image. An image that has a transparent background is very convenient to work with. You can place these images anywhere in your illustration without any interruption by a white background.
White backgrounds are common with images of logos and icons you can download from the internet. There is software nowadays with which you can make vector images transparent. If you have downloaded an image of this sort, you don't have to search for one with a transparent background. You can use software like Adobe Illustrator to easily remove the white or check red background. Adobe Illustrator has a tool called Image Trace,
IMAGE TRACING TOOL
Image Tracing Tool is a tracing tool that helps in tracing the image by removing the background of the image. This tool allows you to convert traditional bitmap images to vector images and resize them by preserving their quality.
Let's know the difference between bitmap images and vector images
Bitmap images are created from rows of pixels, whereas vector images consist of shapes and lines. With Image Trace, you can turn your bitmap image into a vector and simply discard the white background. Find out here how to do it:
In this article, we will show you two different ways to remove that white, colored, or checkered background and get a transparent background in an image.
To remove the checkered background in a vector image, first, open the software called Adobe Illustrator. You just need to figure out how to replace the background with a transparent background. To begin with, let’s find the background you want to remove from the image and select the layer that contains the white or checkered background. Open the “Layers” from the panel and click on the layer. When we click the layer the background will be highlighted, when it is highlighted, we can delete it by pressing the Delete key. And the white, solid color or checkered background will be removed from the image.
Open your image with Adobe Illustrator Software.
On your keyboard, press Ctrl + Shift + D (or Cmd + Shift + D on Mac). This will show the transparency grid lines, which allows you to see if your image is transparent or if it needs a trace tool to make it transparent.
Select the image on the canvas with the Selection Tool. You can press V on your keyboard to activate the tool.
In the menu bar up top on the panel, click on Window. This will open a dropdown menu.
In the dropdown menu, select Image Trace. The Image Trace menu will appear.
In the Image Trace menu up top on the panel, change the Mode from Black and White to Colored.
Open the Advanced settings.
In Options, check Ignore White.
Click on Trace.
Image Trace will then turn the image into a vector and remove the white background, making the image background transparent!
