Granted does not track you or collect any of your data. It works completely offline unless you choose to use iCloud.
Granted stores two-factor authentication secret keys and related account information, which may include:
Service provider name
Image associated with the service provider
Account identifier (such as username, email, or phone number)
Technical settings for one-time password (OTP) generation (hashing algorithm, OTP length, time interval)
This data is stored on your device in an encrypted database. The encryption key is created from a password that you set when you first launch the app.
Important: Your password is never stored and cannot be recovered. If you lose the password, your data cannot be decrypted.
Granted allows you to export your data into a file that can be saved on the device or any other storage (such as an external drive or cloud service). You can choose whether to:
Export as plaintext (readable, but unprotected)
Encrypt it with a password (your choice, not tied to your app password)
When you import, Granted reads the file and saves its contents to the database. The file isn't sent anywhere.
You can choose to enable iCloud to back up your data and keep it synced across your devices. This is entirely optional and disabled by default.
iCloud always encrypts data both in transit and at rest on Apple’s servers. Standard iCloud encryption uses an encryption key stored in Apple data centers. You can enable Advanced Data Protection for end-to-end encryption using keys stored on your devices.
To remove your data from iCloud, go to Settings (or System Settings on Mac) → Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Storage.
Keep in mind that data stored in iCloud is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
Granted does not collect any analytics or usage data. However, depending on your device settings, iOS and macOS may share aggregated app analytics and crash reports with Apple and developers. You can control this in Settings (or System Settings on Mac) → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
