What we do

Grandparents have lots of energy and lots of passion.

We know that global warming is disastrous for our children and grandchildren.

And that drives us to action.

We have been involved in over thirty events since we began five years ago.

 Here are some examples.

Over the road from Parliament House; making our presence known.

Parliamentary vigils

We keep up a steady presence at Parliament House.  We want to make sure that every member is fully aware of the climate emergency and
  does something about it!.

Sanity Claus has delivered his present of horse manure  to Woodside and surprisingly Woodside complained to the police.  What more do they think they deserve?

A Christmas present for Woodside

Woodside gas fields are the biggest emitters of CO2 (including scope 1, 2 and 3) in Australia.  And they plan to open up yet more gas fields.

This is surely a criminal act from a leading Western Australian company.

Father Christmas, alias Sanity Clause, decided to give them an appropriate present.

Bags of horse manure:

A small token of what Woodside is burying our whole world in.

Trying to stop our parliamentarians from passing
                      dreadful legislation.

Parliamentary glue-on

The Western Australian Government and the Fossil Fuel Corporations are so often hand in glove.

A classic example is when the Government passed an amendment to the North West Shelf Agreement to allow exploration and extraction of gas for the next 30 years.  This is contrary to all advice from scientists, the IPCC and the United Nations.  It borders on the criminal:  A crime against humanity.

Some of our grandparents desperately tried to stop the amendment by gluing their hands to the gallery handrails of the Legislative Council Chamber.

They failed then but grandparents never give up!

Grandparents pleased to finish their hunger strike.  They started in good condition.  Millions of children are not so blessed.  They face climate- induced famine that wont just go away.

Hunger strike for climate

Grandparents are prepared to put their bodies on the line;  many have been arrested and fined for so doing.  Some of us took new direction.  We went on a hunger strike with no food or caloric intake for seven days,  outside the giant edifices of Woodside and Chevron.  We wanted to let them know that their contributions to global warming gravely threaten global food security and the lives of so many.

Our hunger strike was nothing compared to the millions and millions of children who will suffer hunger and starvation due to climate change.
