The Grand Forks Math Circle is dedicated to provide math enthusiasts with opportunities to explore thought-provoking mathematics questions, and develop their problem-solving skills in a collaborative and supportive environment. GFMC is supervised by a passionate team of parent volunteers, and students learn from lectures and problem sets, presented by various STEM educators.
Students will study topics and problem-solving techniques that aren't often covered in the classroom curriculum at GFMC. The GFMC is intended to be difficult; students are not expected to comprehend all of the material covered. Students are encouraged by GFMC to go above and beyond and plunge into the depths of profound problem-solving mastery. Our ultimate objective is to develop a creative and effective thinking method that goes well beyond mathematics and cultivates well-rounded people.
We are a registered math circle with the American Institute of Mathematics, see here.
