Big Data for Industry 4.0: Challenges and Applications
Industry 4.0 is often described as digitization or full-scale automation. It is also sometimes defined in relation to emerging technologies advancements in IoT, big data and data analytics, robotics, autonomous systems, sensors and automation, and production methods, such 3D printing, supply chain management. Advancements in IT has resulted an immense improvement in computational power across nearly all electronic devices and enhanced capabilities in connecting the dots in an increasingly networked society. Digital platforms in the Cloud provide a perfect canvas for inventing new business models and for intelligent algorithms to analyze data and derive knowledge for operationalize use by cyber physical systems. Industry 4.0 is expected to have a very high impact on labor markets, global value chains, education, health, environment, and many social economic aspects.
