i had an older version of fanuc ladder III (v6.70) that I am attempting to import the ladder.pmc file to. Robot is an R-30ia controller with version 7.3 on it. After contacting fanuc tech support they told me I needed a newer version of fanuc ladder. OK, no problem. I ordered version 8.70 and installed that. I still get the same Format error of S0 record when attemting to import the pmc file.

I need to make modifications to an existing PMC ladder program. After trying for the life of me and not succeeding in connecting to the controller with Fanuc Ladder 3 , I managed to get the ladder program via a backup with a usb. In fladder I did file/import/handy-file/ladder.pmc. I made my changes to the ladder program, but now my question is how do I get it back on the controller up and running??

Yes the pmc program. It is currently running on the pmc, and I would like to make changes to it. I've tried every combo of settings to connect for both serial and Ethernet without success. I can ping the controller from my pc and vice versa though. I managed to get a copy of the 'ladder.pmc' file from a controller backup, open it and edit it in fanuc ladder 3. Now I'm not sure how to get my edited version back on the pmc. What do you mean by 'dedicated function in the software' to backup the new pmc program?

To load the ladder.pmc file manually, I would try going to controlled-start and then loading it using LOAD option in the File menu, or possibly copying it to FR:/ - or another internal memory of the controller, can't rememeber which one at the moment (haven't worked with a Fanuc robot in quite a long time ), I recommend you try to find the "storage area" first.

Try that and let me know if it worked.

got it ok so what I did from fanuc ladder 3 was export my ladder logic using handy file and call it 'ladder.PMC' (the name is a must!) to my usb. Plugged the usb into the controller, hit the e-stop, loaded the file ladder.PMC, did a cold start and then it was up and running. Thanks for you help

Not all Fanuc ladders can be edited on the machine. whether the ladder can be edited through the control depends on two things. The age on the control and whether it has the option to do so. Sometimes a parameter has to be changed or there is a screen to enable this ladder editing function. Some Fanuc controls require you to burn a new E-prom chip which is not an option for most people. For the machines that you can edit an easier way is to purchase the FANUC LadderIII software for reading and editing the ladder on the PC. Most automation projects you really will not usually need to edit the ladder. You should be able to get by with finding the signals you need to tap into within the wiring.

The Fanuc Ladder Logic has multiple types of timers and counters. In this video we review, how they are configured, how they are used in a ladder logic to cause alarms and how to reverse engineer alarms to fix problems. An application that has been specialized in the field of PLC.

Has been used as a tool for programming sequential components of programmable controllers.

Has been used as a tool for parameter adjustment as well as data editing.

Can setup as well as edit quickly so as to save your precious time.

A tool for planning and managing a wide variety if the standard systems for the development, maintenance and detection of FANUC PMCs.

The function of this application is to help you develop the working condition.

Got the ability to analyze advanced FANUC PMC applications.

Can also create, display, edit and print the ladder trail programs.

Got the ability to write and convert to flash rom.

I don't have much experience with the ladder logic in the Fanuc PMCs. I only have hands-on experience with a few and in those cases there was also a PLC involved so I never had to modify the ladder in the PMC. The part programs in those controllers are written in G code.

Further reducing the additional control hardware common to any installation, the new controller can be completed with its own Programmable Machine Controller(PMC). The PMC has an integrated monitor which allows the user to monitor thePMC ladder in a graphic display for all levels and subprograms that reside inthe controller. be457b7860
