As someone who majored in music composition at university, I may not have a traditional data analytics background however, during my university education, I honed my ability to analyze complex musical structures and patterns, identify trends and themes, and distill this information into meaningful insights. These same skills are critical in data analytics, where the ability to identify patterns and trends in large datasets is essential. Moreover, I have experience working with a variety of software and tools, including digital audio workstations, music notation software, data visualization software such as Tableau, spreadsheets, and programming languages such as R and SQL. While some of these may not be the same tools used in data analytics, my familiarity with learning new software and my eagerness to acquire new skills mean that I am confident that I can quickly adapt to new tools and technologies. In addition, I have worked on numerous group projects and performances throughout my university education, and I have a proven track record of collaborating effectively with others to achieve a common goal. This experience has taught me the importance of clear communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage my time effectively, all skills that are crucial in data analytics.
