Ground was first broken by the GRaDE project team in March 2025 at Carriganore, Co. Waterford.
The resulting soil sample has since been prepared and analysed at the EPA's radiation monitoring laboratory.

In July 2025, the GRaDE project team begun the first soil sampling campaign, focusing on the Waterford TELLUS airborne block region.
Our survey sites were selected using our clustering analysis of the TELLUS airborne radiometric data.
8 soil samples have been collected, prepared and analyzed by gamma-ray spectrometry.
