Assignment Instructions:
Research Phase:
Students are required to research the concept of a digital footprint.
Key points to cover include:
Definition of a digital footprint.
Types of digital footprints: passive and active.
How digital footprints are created and tracked.
The potential consequences of a digital footprint.
Practical Activity:
Each student will conduct an audit of their own digital footprint. This includes:
Listing all social media accounts and any other online platforms they use.
Reflecting on what kind of information (photos, comments, likes) they have shared online.
Searching their name on a search engine and noting down what information comes up.
Reflection and Planning:
Students will write a reflection on what they found during their audit.
They should discuss any surprises or concerns about their digital footprint.
Finally, students will outline a personal action plan on how they can manage their digital footprint better in the future.
Presentation:
Students will work in groups of two or three and create a presentation to share their findings and reflections. This can be done using PowerPoint, a poster, or any other creative format approved by the teacher. Each member will get 5 minutes to present (10 minutes for two and 15 minutes for three members).
