cannot just press delete, files are stored in various folders
run an uninstall program

managing files

suitable program must be used to open files
convert files (import or export)
add properties/metadata to files

use file attributes:

read only (file cant be deleted or changed)
hidden (only visible to you -location)
archive (due to be backed up but never changed)

hardware failure

don't force connections into ports
avoid eating, drinking, dropping
UPS (uninterrupted power supply)/surge protector
correct cooling system
