As an English Minor with a Creative Writing concentration, I’ve had thorough instruction in both Fiction and Nonfiction prose. Beyond that, as a Self-Determined Major, my coursework was multi-disciplinary and writing-intensive: my writing requirements spanned 300-level courses in Social Work, Religious Studies, Anthropology, Psychology, Neuroscience, Asian Studies and English, qualifying me to work within a variety of fields and disciplines and for diverse audiences. My capstone was a short story collection that was awarded departmental honors and published in the Skidmore College Creative Matter online resource, and my other work has also received Honors, notably the Denise Marcil prize for Fiction.

Writing Tutor, Phillip Boshoff Writing Center — Saratoga Springs, NY

Utilized interpersonal and language skills to review academic work and manuscripts. Provided contextual feedback to improve writing quality, encourage comprehension and facilitate skill development, all using a collaborative philosophy that emphasizes self-discovery and puts agency in the hands of the writer. Worked extensively with ESL students and neurodiverse populations, adapting to a wide range of learning styles. 

Statistics Tutor, Skidmore College Psychology Department— Saratoga Springs, NY

September 2021-May 2023

Selected to staff statistics tutoring program as a top performer in the offered psychology statistics courses, alongside three other students. Provided guidance to statistics students in understanding data analysis techniques, manually performing statistical analyses, and navigating/utilizing RStudio and Excel. 

ESL Teacher, Academia Nacional De Sistemas— Florencia, Caqueta, Colombia

Designed and implemented ESL education programs, created activities to promote active learning, contributed constructive feedback and guidance to facilitate critical thinking skills. Independently led five daily classes per week, working with students ranging from preteens to adults/seniors. 

ESL Teaching Assistant, British Language Academy — Casablanca, Settat, Morocco

November 2018-February 2019

Assisted ESL teachers in facilitating class activities and demonstrating pronunciation. Learned from the different teaching styles of professionals in many different schools in major Moroccan cities, namely Chefchauen, Casablanca, Marrakech and Fez. Worked with children ages 7-12.
