MY TIMES

MY JOURNEY

When I was in 5th grade one day, I went to a pool to go play mermaids. Little did I realize that mermaids was not what I did that day. Instead, I swam my first mile (of many future miles) and voila- I then knew I was meant to be a swimmer. The next day, I signed up for Schroeder YMCA. The rest is history. SCHROEDER SWIM

Schroeder is a near and dear to my heart. It taught me valuable mental skills I can take with me anywhere I go, as well as using their motto throughout my life: "Be Great, Act With Integrity, Team First, Expect Success" is truly what I live by! At the 2025 YMCA Nationals, our Women's team got first place! Through hard work, dedication, and camaraderie, we did it!

REAGAN SWIM

My High School swim team has brought so much joy to me these past four years. With making it to State my Freshman year, to my sophomore year practicing in many different pools because our main pool was getting renovated, to being honored in the 2024 season when my teammates voted for me as Team Captain, to savoring every bit of my last season. All of it has been worthwhile, and offered an experience like no other. I've taken the experiences learned from Schroeder and integrated them into my experience here at Reagan.

These experiences have made me realize that I would love to find another team that has similar qualities to my current teams. That is why I want to continue swimming in college, whether that be through a club or being part of a swim program , because I want to feel supported by a team throughout my time in college!
