An interesting life leads to interesting paintings as viewers of Pamela Kanaby's dramatic works of art can testify. Although drawing and painting since childhood, it was living on a sailboat and traveling around the world for fifteen years that exposed Kanaby to a myriad of international artwork. She and her husband made it a point to visit museums and local artisan shops in every port they put into. entranced by what she saw, Kanaby kept a visual journal of her experiences with watercolor sketches.
In 2020, Kanaby and her family, including two daughters by then, desired a "normal life" back in the states as Kanaby puts it. Settling in San Diego, Kanaby had her first actual studio where she began composing her stunning abstract paintings in watercolor and acrylic.
