I created this collection of digital illustrations in Procreate on my iPad. Represented in each illustration is a player’s character from my recent Dungeons and Dragons campaign, brought to life by my dear friends and family. I wanted to capture an action pose for each of the characters, and showcase their personality in subtle ways, such as through lighting choices and details in their clothing. Growing up, I felt digital art did not have a place in a gallery. I hope to show today that the love and technique put in to my works with an Apple Pencil are just as worthy as those made with a paintbrush. // 2. Wizard Kitties: These works are digital illustrations made in Procreate on iPad. It is no secret that I love cats- However, I always struggled to figure out how I wanted to draw and stylize them in my own art. These two works are an exploration of the kind of style and whimsy I want to capture with my art.
Ari is a 7th-year teacher at Belton New Tech High School @ Waskow. Ari followed her passion for education into the math classroom, but never stopped creating art.
Alicia Richardson
For the past twenty years, I have shared my passion for art as an educator in Belton, while continuing to explore and grow as an artist myself. I enjoy creating within different media, allowing curiosity and experimentation to guide my work. I work with collage, acrylics, spray paint, and a variety of different mixed media. Layering textures and colors to bring depth and energy to each piece. Animals, especially birds, are a recurring subject in my work. I view them as symbols o f freedom and beauty that inspire me to capture their unique character through vibrant color and movement. At the heart of my practice is a love for creativity in all its forms.

Emily Simeroth
I am a lifelong Central Texan, born and raised in Temple and Belton. I graduated from Belton High School in 1995 and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 1999 and have spent the last 25 years teaching art in Belton ISD. As a high school art teacher, I have remained an active, practicing artist — modeling the creative process for my students while continuing to explore my own artistic voice. I grew up riding horses at our family farm, took lessons and competed in Equestrian events for 10 years of my youth. Horses have always been a source of inspiration and hold a special place in my heart.

Amber Gabriel
Amber Gabriel is a Central Texas artist, author, and teacher. Scribbling since she was old enough to hold a crayon, she drew her first (unsanctioned) mural at the age of five, inspired by the eminent painters Glip and Glop of Richard Scarry fame. In order to keep an eye on her, Amber’s artistic mother set up a canvas and easel on the dining room table. Since then, Amber has completed many commissioned artworks, including portraits and large outdoor murals. She prefers using brushes and pencils to a spray can or stylus. Most of her artistic talent is focused on planning incredible lessons for her students, but she still creates when inspiration strikes or she needs to take a break from other activities.

My work consists of graphite pencil portraits drawn from photographs of people I know. I am a literal artist—I draw what I see. The act of drawing is an exercise in careful observation, patience, and accuracy. I am interested in recording a person as they appear, without exaggeration or interpretation, allowing small details to speak for themselves.
I choose my subjects from the people around me, those I see often and share daily life with. Because of this familiarity, the portraits become a quiet form of acknowledgment. The drawings reflect time spent looking closely at individuals who might otherwise be overlooked in everyday routines.
Working in graphite allows me to focus on value, line, and subtle shifts in light. Through this process, I aim to capture not a performance or an idealized version of a person, but their presence as it exists in a specific moment.

Macon Tolleson has been an art educator at Belton High School for four years. She received her BA in Theatrical Design at Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi, where she also pursued an art minor. Macon's teaching career was inspired by her mother Patti Sampson's passion for teaching kindergarten with innovation, imagination, and compassion, and by seeing the impact the teaching career of her husband's grandmother, Vonda Cranford, had on her community after her passing. Macon believes that anyone is capable of creating fulfilling artistic expression, and that making art is a skill set that can be taught to anyone with the desire and discipline to learn. Her approach to her personal art is the same approach she teaches her students-"use what you have, don't follow rules just because they're there, and learn through experimentation."

The infatuation for creating art has driven the artist Jannet Alardin to create artworks that move her soul. Understanding the rapid nature of time, she has incorporated memorable moments in her art representing the enduring affection of life on pause.
Displayed are three works demonstrating angelic representation of her loved ones. While some may find it unusual, others find it captivating to linger and watch their loved ones sleep, even if just for a moment.
