The results from Simulator A, which align closely with Captain Hardy’s calculations for a constant magnetic heading, indicate a possible end point near the southern limits of the 2015–2016 ATSB search zone. This may imply that the flight path could have been slightly more southern than initially modelled, or glided a greater distance after the 7th Arc, placing the potential wreckage just outside the formerly surveyed boundaries.
While the BFO data from the final handshake suggests the aircraft was in a steep dive at that moment, it is worth considering if a manual pull-out could have occurred. If so, this may have significantly extended the aircraft's glide distance even after fuel exhaustion. This remains a speculative but plausible scenario that would require searching a wider perimeter beyond the 7th Arc.
