GPS Maps & Driving Directions App

This Privacy Policy applies to the GPS Maps & Driving Directions App developed by APPSONIX.

By using this app, you agree to the practices described below.

1. No Account Required

The app does not require user registration or login.
We do not collect names, email addresses, or phone numbers.

2. Location Data Collection

This app uses location data to provide core features such as navigation, nearby places, and location timeline history.

We collect location data in the following ways:

2.1 Real-Time Navigation (Foreground Use)

• Location is used while the app is actively opened

• Used for route calculation and turn-by-turn directions

• Location is not stored permanently

2.2 Location Timeline Feature (User-Controlled Tracking)

The app includes an optional feature called Location Timeline.

When the user explicitly enables this feature, the app:

• Collects location updates approximately every 7 seconds

• Records location points to build a personal location history timeline

• Displays visited places and movement history inside the app

Important conditions:

• This feature is OFF by default

• It only starts after explicit user activation

• Users can pause or stop tracking at any time

• Users can delete their timeline data at any time inside the app

When enabled, a clear in-app disclosure and permission prompt is shown before tracking begins, explaining:

• That location will be collected continuously in the background

• That location is collected every few seconds

• The purpose of tracking (timeline/history feature)

3. Prominent Disclosure & User Consent

Before enabling Location Timeline tracking, the app shows a clear and unavoidable in-app disclosure, which includes:

• That the app will collect location data in the background

• That location may be collected every few seconds (approx. 7 seconds)

• The purpose of collection (creating a location timeline/history)

• That tracking continues only while feature is enabled

• That the user can stop tracking anytime

The user must explicitly tap “Allow / Enable” before tracking begins.

Without user consent, no background location tracking occurs.

4. Data We Collect

We may collect the following data depending on usage:

• Precise GPS location (only when enabled by user)

• Background location updates (only for Timeline feature)

• Device information (model, OS version)

• App usage and crash data (anonymous)

We do not collect personal identity information.

5. Data Storage

• Location Timeline data is stored locally on the user’s device

• We do not upload or store personal location history on our servers

• Analytics data is handled by third-party providers

6. Third-Party Services

We use:

• Google AdMob (advertising)

• Firebase Analytics (usage analytics)

• Google Maps / Location Services (mapping and navigation)

These services may collect:

• Device identifiers

• IP address (anonymized)

• Usage data

We do not sell user data.

7. Data Retention

• Timeline data remains on the user’s device until deleted by the user

• We do not retain personal location data on our servers

• Third-party services retain analytics data according to their own policies

8. Data Deletion

Users can:

• Turn off Location Timeline at any time

• Delete timeline history from inside the app

• Uninstall the app to remove all local data

9. Security

We implement reasonable security practices, but no system is completely secure.

10. Children’s Privacy

This app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy at any time. Changes will be reflected here.
