WHAT ACTUALLY IS A GPS SYSTEM ?

GPS is another satellite navigation system that can be used to find out exactly where a protest is happening. In the 1960s, the US military used GPS technology for the first time, and over the next few decades, it became very common. GPS receivers are used in many commercial products today, such as cars, cell phones, wrist watches, and GPS devices. For the GPS system, 24 satellites were sent into space. They orbit the Earth at a distance of about 12,000 miles (19,300 kilometres). They travel around the world at regular intervals at a very fast speed of about 7,000 miles per hour.
