GIS is many things. GIS is a tool for making intelligent maps using a computer. However, GIS is more than just colorful maps – you need to consider the underlying geospatial data and analysis to appreciate how space is a fundamental organizing concept.
This course expands the skills and knowledge you acquired in our Introduction to GIS course. We expand GIS from 'making maps' to meaningful geospatial data analysis, using GIS as a problem-solving tool.
This website contains all the course materials, assignments, projects, and links to great GIS resources and will be updated continuously over the course of the semester.
