Privacy Policy
GPS Speedometer & Odometer
Effective date: August 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy applies to the Android application GPS Speedometer & Odometer (package name: com.brzin.velometer), published on Google Play by Jandem.
The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to explain what information the app accesses or processes, how that information is used, when information may be shared with third-party services, and what choices users have regarding their data.
GPS Speedometer & Odometer uses device location in order to provide its main functionality.
Depending on the features used, the app may access precise or approximate location data, including:
Latitude and longitude
GPS speed
Altitude
GPS accuracy
Route points
Timestamps associated with route points
Start and end positions of a saved trip
Saved parking location
Location information is used for features such as:
Real-time GPS speed measurement
Distance and odometer calculations
Walk and Car/Bike route tracking
Trip History
Trip Analysis
Route maps
Altitude information
Parking Save and Find
Start and end trip locations
GPX, KML and CSV route export
Current-location and SOS sharing
The app may continue receiving location updates while an active tracking session is running and the app is not visible or the screen is locked. When this happens, Android runs the tracking function as a foreground location service and displays a system notification.
GPS route and trip information used by the app is primarily processed and stored locally on the user's device.
The developer does not operate a server that automatically receives or stores the user's GPS route history.
The app can locally store information necessary for saved trips and Trip History.
Depending on the trip, locally stored information may include:
Trip date and time
Trip title
Trip distance
Maximum and average speed
Walk and Car/Bike statistics
Start and end information
GPS route points
Latitude and longitude
Route-point timestamps
Travel mode associated with route points
Segment information used for saved trips
This information is used to display Trip History, saved routes and Trip Analysis.
The data remains on the user's device until it is deleted by the user, replaced through the Restore function where applicable, cleared through Android application settings, or removed when the application is uninstalled.
The Trip Analysis feature processes previously saved trip information locally on the device.
Trip Analysis may calculate or display information such as:
Total trip distance
Moving time
Route duration
Average and maximum speed
Walk statistics
Car/Bike statistics
Route-point information
Trip Analysis does not automatically upload the user's saved trip history to the developer.
Users may assign custom titles to saved trips.
Trip titles, History search information, filters and sorting settings are used only to organize and display saved trips inside the application.
Custom trip titles are stored locally on the device and may also be included in a History backup or exported route file when appropriate.
The app allows the user to export saved route information in:
GPX format
KML format
CSV format
Export is performed only when the user explicitly selects the Export feature.
Depending on the selected format, an exported file may include information such as:
Trip title
GPS coordinates
Route points
Date and time
Route-point timestamps
Travel mode
Distance information
Speed-related information
Segment information
CSV files may additionally contain calculated route information such as elapsed time, cumulative distance and derived speed between valid connected route points.
The app uses the Android document interface so that the user chooses where an exported file will be saved.
The developer does not automatically receive GPX, KML or CSV files created by the user.
If the user later opens, uploads, sends or shares an exported file using another application or online service, that third party may process the information according to its own privacy policy.
GPS Speedometer & Odometer includes a local Backup and Restore function for saved Trip History.
A backup is created only when the user explicitly chooses the Backup option.
The app uses the Android document interface so that the user chooses where the backup file is saved.
A History backup may contain:
Saved History entries
Custom Trip Titles
Saved segment start and end time
Saved maximum and average speed information
GPS route points
Latitude and longitude
Route-point timestamps
Walk/Car travel mode associated with route points
The History backup does not include:
Saved parking location
General application settings
Premium or subscription entitlement state
Advertising or consent state
An active trip that has not yet been saved to History
Backup files are not automatically uploaded to the developer.
The Restore feature is initiated only by the user. The user selects a compatible backup file using the Android document interface.
Restoring a backup replaces the completed/saved History information covered by the backup. It does not automatically upload the backup to the developer.
If a backup file is copied, uploaded or shared through another application or cloud storage service, that third-party service may process the file according to its own privacy policy.
The Parking feature allows the user to save a parking position locally on the device.
The saved parking position may be used to:
Display the parked-car position on a map
Calculate distance to the parked vehicle
Open navigation to the saved parking position
The parking location remains stored locally until the user deletes it, clears the application's data, or uninstalls the application.
Parking information is not included in the V90 History Backup file.
Some map-related functions require an Internet connection.
The app uses online map services to display map tiles and route locations. Depending on the selected map type, map content may be provided through services including OpenStreetMap-based map tiles and Esri map imagery.
When an online map is used, the relevant map provider may receive technical network information such as the user's IP address and requests for the map area being displayed.
Street or place names may also require an online geocoding service provided through the Android device or platform.
When the user explicitly chooses to open navigation in Google Maps, the relevant destination coordinates are passed to Google Maps or its web service.
The privacy practices of these external services are governed by their respective privacy policies.
The app provides features that allow the user to share information, including:
Current GPS location
SOS location
Saved trip information
Start and end locations
Saved route information
Route map images
Sharing is initiated by the user.
The Android sharing interface allows the user to choose the application or service that will receive the information.
The developer does not automatically receive information shared in this way.
Once the user selects another application or service for sharing, that third party may process the shared information according to its own privacy policy.
The app may temporarily create an image file in its private cache when preparing a route map for sharing. Temporary share files are used to support the sharing function and old temporary share images are periodically removed from the application's cache.
The free version of GPS Speedometer & Odometer may display advertisements.
The app uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (Google AdMob).
Depending on the user's region, privacy choices, device settings and advertising configuration, Google advertising services may process information such as:
IP address, which may provide an approximate location
Advertising ID or other device identifiers
App interactions, such as app launches, taps or ad interactions
Advertising interaction information
Diagnostic and performance information
This information may be used by Google and its advertising services for purposes such as:
Displaying advertisements
Advertising measurement
Analytics
Fraud prevention
Security
The application itself does not use this advertising information to build its own independent user profile.
Google's advertising services operate according to Google's own privacy policies and advertising settings.
Users may be able to reset or delete their Android Advertising ID through Android device settings.
Premium users may have advertisements removed according to the Premium features available in the app.
The app uses the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) to manage advertising privacy and consent requirements where applicable.
Depending on the user's region and applicable regulations, Google UMP may display a consent form that allows the user to make choices relating to advertising and data processing.
Advertising requests are made according to the consent status available to the app and Google advertising services.
Users may be provided with privacy options where required by applicable regulations.
The app offers an optional Premium subscription through Google Play.
Purchases and subscriptions are processed using Google Play Billing.
The app can receive information from Google Play about whether the relevant subscription is active so that Premium features can be enabled.
A local Premium entitlement state may be stored on the device so that the application can display the correct Premium status.
The developer does not receive or store the user's payment card or bank account details through the application. Payment processing is handled by Google Play.
Google Play processes purchase-related information according to Google's own privacy policies.
The application may check whether an Internet connection is available so that features requiring online access, such as maps, advertising or online services, can behave correctly.
The application does not use the Wi-Fi network name or network state to create a developer-operated user profile.
Some third-party services used by the application, particularly advertising and online services, may independently process technical device and network information according to their own privacy policies.
On supported Android versions, the application may request permission to display notifications.
Notifications are primarily used to support the foreground GPS tracking service and provide information related to application operation.
Notification permission itself is not used by the developer to collect personal information.
Depending on the features used, GPS Speedometer & Odometer may interact with third-party services including:
Google Mobile Ads / AdMob
Google User Messaging Platform
Google Play Billing
Google Maps, when explicitly opened by the user
OpenStreetMap-related map services
Esri online map imagery
Android system location and geocoding services
These third parties may process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
The developer does not control the independent privacy practices of third-party services.
Trip History, parking information, application settings and other app-specific information are primarily stored in the application's local storage on the user's Android device.
Android's application storage mechanisms restrict normal access by other applications.
The application does not operate a developer-owned server for automatically uploading or storing the user's GPS route history.
Data intentionally shared, exported or backed up by the user may leave the application's private storage and becomes subject to the security and privacy practices of the destination selected by the user.
Data transmitted by third-party services is handled according to the security practices of those services.
Locally stored information is retained only as needed to provide the features selected by the user.
Users can remove locally stored information in several ways, depending on the data:
Delete individual saved trips from History
Clear saved Trip History
Delete a saved parking location
Replace saved History by restoring another compatible backup
Clear the application's data through Android settings
Uninstall the application
Exported GPX, KML or CSV files and History backup files are stored in locations selected by the user. The user is responsible for deleting those external files when they are no longer required.
Files shared or uploaded to another application or service must be deleted through that application or service.
Temporary route-sharing images stored in the application's cache may be automatically cleaned by the application.
Advertising-related information processed by Google is subject to Google's retention and deletion policies and the privacy controls available through the user's Google and Android settings.
GPS Speedometer & Odometer does not require the user to create a developer-operated account in order to use the application.
Therefore, the app does not maintain a separate online account database containing the user's Trip History or GPS routes.
Google Play purchases and subscriptions are associated with Google Play and are managed through the user's Google Play account.
Users control whether to:
Grant location permission
Start or stop GPS tracking
Save a trip
Save or delete a parking location
Export a route
Create a History backup
Restore a History backup
Share a location or route
Open navigation in another application
Purchase a Premium subscription
Make advertising consent choices where applicable
Some core functions, such as GPS speed and route tracking, cannot operate without location permission.
Permissions can be changed at any time through Android system settings, although disabling a required permission may prevent the corresponding feature from working.
The application does not intentionally request a user's name, email address, phone number or similar contact information as part of its GPS tracking functionality.
Any information processed by third-party services such as Google advertising or Google Play is subject to those services' privacy practices and applicable consent requirements.
This Privacy Policy may be updated when the application changes, new features are introduced, third-party services change, or legal and Google Play requirements require an update.
The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when significant changes are made.
Users are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
