The Division of Criminal Investigation is a specialized task force within the San Andreas State Patrol that investigates all types of crimes reported to both them and the San Andreas State Patrol. These Detectives follow up on criminal reports with workable leads or those that constitute being added to a case that is part of an ongoing criminal trial or file. They secure, process, and log physical evidence as well as establish and maintain liaisons with other law enforcement agencies, local courts, the District and City Attorney's Offices. The unit participates in all forms of investigative activities including: conducting surveillance, undercover operations, countering drug, weapon, and human trafficking rings, investigating auto thefts, investigating and generating a more in depth understanding of homicides, specialty training in gang, narcotics, and warrant enforcement, as well as in the field investigations, and the protection of government officials and high value witnesses or targets.
