The Global Portuguese Mathematicians 2027 meeting will take place at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Aveiro from 19 to 22 July 2027. The scientific programme features twelve invited lectures and six thematic sessions, covering a broad range of areas in mathematics. Together, these sessions will bring together researchers at different stages of their careers — from well-established names to early-career mathematicians — creating a diverse and lively scientific environment.

The meeting has been held since 2017, generally on a biennial basis, gathering Portuguese mathematicians — both those based in Portugal and those working abroad — as well as researchers with close scientific or institutional ties to Portugal. The aim is to provide an informal setting where people can share recent work and build connections across countries and career stages.

The 2027 edition marks ten years since this conference series began. It’s a chance to look back at what has been achieved, catch up with colleagues, and think about where the network might go next. We warmly welcome mathematicians based in Portugal and around the world to join us in Aveiro.
