Ecology of Great Plains Streams
Walter is a University Distinguished Professor at Kansas State University, where he has undertaken a range of impactful research in aquatic ecology and mentored many students. Walter was the 2017 recipient of the Society for Freshwater Science Award of Excellence, and he (+ co-author Matt Whiles) received a Textbook Excellence Award for Freshwater Ecology: Concepts and Environmental Applications of Limnology. His dedication to teaching is also reflected in his Youtube channel, which provided excellent supplemental material for teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Accommodations
There is an affordable shared lodging option in a dorm on campus at a rate of $25 per person/night. You can choose one night or two nights. It is a shared suite with a bathroom. You can select and pay for a dorm room via a link provided in the registration form. After registration closes, we will contact you for roommate preferences.
