Ver-1:
Gyanendra Prasad Joshi (Ph.D.) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronic and AI System Engineering and the Department of Artificial Intelligence & Software at Kangwon National University, South Korea. He previously served at Sejong University, Yeungnam University, and as a visiting assistant professor at Case Western Reserve University (USA). He has also been an honorary ICT consultant to the Government of Nepal. He earned his Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering from Yeungnam University (2012) and has authored/co-authored around 200 research papers. Recognized in Stanford University and Elsevier’s World’s Top 2% Scientists (2025 Edition), his research interests include UAV localization, wireless networks, cognitive radio, IoT, smart cities, deep learning, and digital convergence.

Gyanendra Prasad Joshi (Ph.D.) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronic and AI System Engineering (전자·AI시스템공학과) and the Department of Artificial Intelligence & Software at Kangwon National University, South Korea. Prior to this role, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Sejong University, South Korea. From March 2018 to February 2019, he worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Case School of Engineering, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH, USA, and earlier as a Researcher in the Department of Applied Mathematics, Kongju National University, Kongju, South Korea. Between March 2012 and February 2018, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information and Communication Engineering at Yeungnam University, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea. In August 2017, he was appointed as an Honorary ICT Consultant at the Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of Nepal.
He received his Ph.D. degree in Information and Communication Engineering from Yeungnam University in February 2012. After completing his B.S. and M.S. studies at Ajou University (2007), he worked as an IT Manager at Minigate Co., Ltd., South Korea. During his graduate studies, he was awarded both KRF and ITSP scholarships from the Korean government for his M.S. and Ph.D. research, respectively.
Dr. Joshi has received multiple recognitions for his academic contributions, including the Best Research Paper Presentation Award at ICSEM-2020 in Bangalore, India, the Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Information Retrieval (CIIR 2025), West Bengal, India (April 2025), and the Best Paper Award at the 14th International Conference on Advanced Engineering and ICT-Convergence (ICAEIC-2025), Sydney, Australia (February 2025).
He is a Senior Editor of the International Journal of Information Communication Technology and Digital Convergence (IJICTDC) and an Editorial Board Member of the Far East Journal of Electronics and Communications (FJEC) and the JP Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer (JHMT). He has also served as Lead Guest Editor for special issues in FJEC and JHMT, and as Guest Editor for special issues in international journals such as Hindawi IJDSNs, Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing, Journal of Security and Communication Networks, MDPI Sensors, MDPI Computers, CMC-Materials & Continua, and SAGE Health Informatics Journal.
In addition, he is an active reviewer for numerous high-impact journals, including Elsevier’s JNCA, Springer’s Wireless Networks, Wiley’s ETT, KSII’s TIIS, EURASIP JWCN, IEEE Communications Letters, China Communications, IET Communications, and AIoT Journal. He has also been involved in academic leadership and conference organization, serving as Conference Chair (INCT-2012), Session Chair (FTRA-AIM 2012, ICIDB 2015–2019, ICACCI 2016–2020), and as a Committee Member for many international conferences. He played key roles in organizing events such as ICTMHC-2016, ICACCI (2015–2020), and ICIDB (2015–2019).
Dr. Joshi has presented his research at numerous conferences worldwide and has authored or co-authored over 200 publications, with more than 170 papers as first or corresponding author in books, journals, and international conference proceedings. His research interests include UAV localization, MAC and routing protocols for next-generation wireless networks, wireless sensor networks, cognitive radio networks, RFID systems, IoT, smart cities, deep learning, and digital convergence.
He was recognized in Stanford University and Elsevier’s World’s Top 2% Scientists (2025 Edition) list for his global research impact.

His research interests include cognitive radio networks, UAV localization, IoT, smart cities, cybersecurity, and machine learning applications in wireless communications. He has authored or co-authored over 200 publications, with more than 170 as first or corresponding author, and was recognized in Stanford University and Elsevier’s World’s Top 2% Scientists (2025 Edition).
Dr. Joshi earned his Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering from Yeungnam University, Korea. In addition to research, he actively mentors graduate students and develops innovative courses in networking, AI, and secure computing.
