Gyanendra Prasad Joshi (Ph.D.) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronic and AI System Engineering (전자·AI시스템공학과) and the Department of Artificial Intelligence & Software at Kangwon National University, South Korea. He was previously an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Sejong University, South Korea. Prior to this role, he was a visiting Assistant Professor at the Case School of Engineering, Case Western Reserve University, USA, and a Researcher in the Department of Applied Mathematics at Kongju National University, South Korea. Between 2012 and 2018, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information and Communication Engineering at Yeungnam University, South Korea, where he received his PhD degree in information and communication engineering in February 2012. He received KRF and ITSP scholarships from the Korean government for his MS and PhD studies, respectively. His main research interests include MAC and routing protocols for wireless networks, cognitive radio networks, RFID systems, IoT, smart cities, AI, and digital convergence.

Gyanendra Prasad Joshi (Ph.D.) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronic and AI System Engineering (전자·AI시스템공학과) and the Department of Artificial Intelligence & Software at Kangwon National University, South Korea. Prior to this role, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Sejong University, South Korea. He worked at Case School of Engineering, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH, from March 2018 to February 2019 as a visiting assistant professor. From March 2012 to February 2018, he served as an assistant professor in the Department of Information and Communication Engineering at Yeungnam University, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea. In August 2017, he was appointed as an honorary ICT consultant at the Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of Nepal. He received his Ph.D. degree in information and communication engineering from Yeungnam University in February 2012. After graduating from Ajou University in February 2007, he worked as an IT manager at Minigate Co. Ltd., South Korea. He received KRF and ITSP scholarships from the Korean government for his MS and Ph.D. studies, respectively. He received the best research paper presentation award at ICSEM-2020 in Bangalore, India. He also received best paper awards at the International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Information Retrieval (CIIR 2025), April 2025, West Bengal, India and 14th International Conference on Advanced Engineering and ICT-Convergence 2025 (14th ICAEIC-2025), February 10-13, 2025, pp. 321-330, Sydney, Australia.
He is a senior editor of the International Journal of Information Communication Technology and Digital Convergence (IJICTDC) and an editorial board member of The Far East Journal of Electronics and Communications (FJEC) and JP Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer (JHMT). He has served as a lead guest editor for special issues in the Far East Journal of Electronics and Communications and JP Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, as well as a guest editor for special issues in Hindawi IJDSNs, Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing, Journal of Security and Communication Networks, MDPI Sensors, Computers, CMC-Materials & Continua Journal, and SAGE Health Informatics Journal.
He has been involved in the review process for several international journals, including Elsevier’s JNCA, Springer’s Wireless Networks, Wiley’s ETT, KSII’s TIIS, EURASIP JWCN, IEEE Communications Letters, China Communication, IET Communications, and AIoT Journal, among others. He served as conference chair for INCT-2012, session chair for FTRA-AIM 2012, ICIDB-2015-2019, and ICACCI-2016-2020, and has been a committee member for many conferences. He has successfully organized several conferences, including ICTMHC-2016, ICACCI-2015-2020, and ICIDB-2015-2019. He has presented his research results at numerous conferences around the world and has authored over 70 research articles published in books, international journals, and international conferences as a first or corresponding author. His main research interests include UAV localization, MAC and routing protocols for next-generation wireless networks, wireless sensor networks, cognitive radio networks, RFID systems, IoT, smart cities, deep learning, and digital convergence.

He has previously served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Sejong University and as a visiting Assistant Professor at Case School of Engineering, CWRU, USA. He was also a Researcher in the Department of Applied Mathematics at Kongju National University and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information and Communication Engineering at Yeungnam University, Korea.
Dr. Joshi's research interests include cognitive radio networks, machine learning applications in wireless communications, cybersecurity, and intelligent systems. He has contributed extensively to these fields through publications, funded research projects, and international collaborations.
He earned his PhD in Information and Communication Engineering from Yeungnam University, Korea. In addition to his research, Dr. Joshi actively mentors graduate students and develops innovative courses in networking, AI, and secure computing. More about his work can be found at his website.
