About ProRecognition, Process, Job Search
No, we are not a recruitment agency. Instead, we provide free advice on the recognition process (ex. Steps, Costs to prepare for, authorities to approach etc.)
We will be able to give accurate advice if we have access to your background information. Return to the homepage and fill out form. We will get back to you as soon as we can.
Our team will provide information upon review of the initial documents; this includes profession demand in Germany, recognition process and language skills, if applicable, and recommended visa type. When deemed necessary, we will ask for further information via e-mail or video call.
Due to the large volume of inquiries, it will take us about 4 weeks to respond. Please be assured that we will give attention and care to each inquiry.
ProRecognition is a German-funded initiative implemented through the German Chambers Abroad, and this means we give counselling support for FREE.
We are open from Mondays to Fridays 09:00 to 18:00, except on holidays, in which cases we are closed.
You can send us an e-mail at prorecognition@gpcci.org or through our social media pages found at the bottom of the page.
About Recognition of Qualifications
Degree recognition is a pre-requisite for your job application in Germany. This will enable the authorities to see if you were qualified for your desired vacancy. For healthcare professionals, for example, this is a requirement before they can get a license and use their professional title. Also, this process will identify if your university degree/s here are equivalent or comparable to the ones earned in Germany.
It depends on your profession, and if your preferred work region considers it regulated or non-regulated. If your academic degree is considered equivalent to a German degree, there’s no need. However, it’s rare. Most of our degrees here in the Philippines only get partial recognition. Contact us for more information on your case.
Apprenticeships in Germany (known as Ausbildung) takes 3 years whereas vocational training programs here only takes up to maximum of 2 years. Considering this gap, this qualification is hardly equivalent to the ones in Germany. You need a minimum of 2 years vocational training degree to qualify for a recognition application.

A statement of Comparability is an official certificate issued by the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB). It compares your educational degree to a qualification in the German education system. This costs 208 EUR with a waiting time of at least 3 months.
Having this certificate allows potential employers to recognize the value of your qualification, and it serves as a supporting document for visa applications.
Yes, if you want to pursue an advanced degree, like medical specialization, among others. You can also reach out to DAAD Philippines for more information on admission process for studying and research in Germany.
