This fictional story is about two twin kids and their family trying to migrate and escape from these monsters that came from a meteor.
ONCE UPON A TIME
Imagine a world that feels like a perfect TV show, where everything is flawless.
There are twin siblings named Blessing and Prayer, both 15 years old. Blessing is the boy. He is very masculine and self-centered, like most boys. Prayer is a sweet, kind girl who is popular but does not let popularity change who she is. She cares about people, the world, animals, and fashion. All of those qualities have made her into the person she is today.
The twins are complete opposites and value very different things. However, there is one thing they both value equally each other. Since birth, they have shared an unbreakable bond.
They live with their mother, father, aunt, uncle, and grandmother in a beautiful ten-bedroom mansion on a hill next to sparkling water, where neighborhood kids come every summer to surf. The six-floor mansion is white, with marble countertops, beautiful trees, and breathtaking landscaping.
Oh, and did I forget to mention that they are the richest family in town?Their great-grandfather worked day and night to make sure his children and future generations would never have to struggle. But back to the story.Blessing and Prayer are in the living room with their family. Everyone is doing their own thing, but this is what they call family time. Suddenly, all they hear is
"BOOOOOOOOM!"
"What the hell was that?" Blessing said.
Twelve seconds after the boom, all of their phones began flashing red. It looked like an Amber Alert, but it wasn't. Prayer read the message aloud.
"Everyone gets into a safe facility immediately. Seek shelter now."
Then the TV turned on. A news broadcast appeared, but it was from a reporter none of them had ever seen before. Not even their grandmother recognized him, and all she ever did was watch the news.
"A massive meteor has crashed! Everyone runs! There are three monster-like creatures attacking people. Seek safety immediately!"
The Pena family sat there stunned. For thirty minutes, nobody spoke.
Finally, their mother, Faith, said, "What the hell is going on?"
Then their grandfather, Spiritual, jumped into action.
"We need to lock and barricade all the doors. We have enough food to last a lifetime. If things get worse, we'll all run to the secret bunker."
Blessing sat there laughing, thinking it was a joke, just like he thought everything was.But their grandmother, Majestic, sat frozen as if she had seen this before. Then she screamed.
"No! Not again! This cannot happen again!"
Everyone looked at her.
"What the hell is wrong?" Spiritual asked.
She sat silently for a moment before speaking.
"Eighty-five years ago, in 1941, my parents lived through something just like this. We are not originally from France. We had to escape there. My parents were from Barbados. They fell in love, and my mother became pregnant. You would think that would be the end of the story, but it wasn't. A meteor, just like this one, fell from the sky. Monsters, evil spirits, and all sorts of terrible creatures emerged. My mother was eight months pregnant. It was just her and my father. Everyone around them was dead, gone, executed, annihilated. Their friends, family, neighbors—everyone was gone and would never return. One day, while they were hiding, my mother's water broke. The floor was soaked. Death surrounded them. My father had to deliver the baby all by himself. That baby was me. That was when my parents realized they had to leave. They escaped, ran for their lives, and eventually migrated to France. There, they built a better life and started over. But there was one rule in our family: Never talk about the past."
The room fell silent. No one knew what to say. Then, from somewhere outside, they heard a scream.
Everyone confronted our grandmother. Then they all got up and went straight into action. They looked out the window.
"Wow, look at all those people!"
After watching all those people running as if their lives depended on it, the Pena family rushed to their stations. Grandma and Grandpa went to the garage to grab some wood. While Grandma was gathering the wood, Grandpa scanned his eyeball, and a secret door opened. Inside the room were several weapons: an AK-47, a minigun, a shotgun, and an SMG. Grandpa grabbed all of them and ran upstairs. He kept the shotgun for himself, gave the minigun to his son, handed the AK-47 to his other son, and gave the SMG to Blessing. Meanwhile, the four women locked all the doors, gathered medical supplies, prepared emergency rations, and organized all the food. After everything was secured, everyone sat together and watched the news. Days passed. Then weeks passed. Soon, it had been about two months since they had gone into hiding. The news channels were gone. Most people were either dead or missing, and every time they turned on the radio, all they heard was static. The world outside had become eerily silent. No one knew what was happening anymore, and the family could only hope that they were safe inside their home.
The grandparents and the parents of Prayer and Blessing went upstairs to take a look. That was the last time anyone ever saw them. Everyone else was devastated. They spent the next two days crying and staring at the walls. Then suddenly
"Bang!"
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
"Crash!"
"What was that?" Prayer asked.
Everyone said they didn't know. Their uncle snuck upstairs to check. As soon as he got upstairs, he immediately ran back down.
"Mayday! Mayday! Mayday! There are monsters all over the house!" the uncle shouted.
They all ran as fast as they could to the escape pod. The two kids and their aunt made it inside just in time. As their uncle was about to touch the entrance of the escape pod and reach safety, the monsters grabbed him and pulled him into a dark abyss.
"Nooooo!" their aunt cried.
But all they could do was press the big red button on the escape pod that said "FLY" and get to safety as quickly as possible. The three lonely survivors slowly flew over the deserted town, which looked like a dystopian wasteland. Prayer started to cry, and Blessing hugged her. As they looked down, they saw blood everywhere, destroyed buildings, raging fires, and hungry monsters roaming the streets looking for their next prey. For the next week, they sat in the escape pod and flew over France, England, Italy, Russia, Africa, Canada, and several other countries that Prayer couldn't remember. Everywhere they looked, the world below seemed broken and abandoned.
I PREYED FOR BETTER DAYS AND BLESSINGS
They got out of France and out of Europe. For the next three days, all they saw was the ocean and its clear blue waters. As they traveled, they cried, wishing and hoping for better days to come. They prayed that all of this was just a nightmare and that they would wake up one day and find everything back to normal. Then the GPS spoke.
"GPS to America. You will arrive in 30 minutes."
All three of them were happy and jumped up and down with joy until they heard another message.
"Crash landing activated. We are crashing," said the GPS.
They all started freaking out. They were only moments away from freedom, and now they were crashing.
"BOOM!"
The escape pod crashed into the ocean near the shore. Prayer and Blessing used all their strength and fought through their tears as they swam to shore. When they finally reached land, they turned around to look for their aunt. She was gone. They sat there, lost and broken. Everyone was gonetheir mother, their father, their Papa, their Nana, their uncle, and now their aunt.
All they had left was each other.
THE END
They cried and cried until they had no more tries and then they ran to the border as fast as they could even despite how tired they were. And they screamed for help but no help came about so they sat there to die. And they passed out and when they woke up everyone was around them there mom, dad, uncle, aunt, and grandparents and it turns out they were in a 2 year coma and everything was just a dream . I guess everything still has a good ending after all. bye

Annotated Bibliography
"Exploring migration causes: why people migrate." European Parliament, January 07 2020.
This article was written to explain about people taking drastic measures to leave, flee, and escape their country. It talks about the 3 key reasons that people leave. Culture like the people that surround themselves with, money like what can make them the most money and help them provide for their daily life, and last and not least the environment what the place around them looks like. This article ended up doing a broad overview of those 3 topics to show why people migrate from place and place and how it could benefit them in different ways. The source is reliable because it came from the European government. I am going to use this source in my writing because it gives me different aspects of migration from different countries and how they view it.
Lacey, Catherine, Biography of X, Farrar Status and Giroux, 2023
Biography of X is a novel by Catherine Lacey. She wrote this book because she wanted to show that you can’t look at everything straight on and sometimes you need to look at it upside down. It’s about this main character Lucca that starts off in the book married to this man named Henry Surner. She was happy with him at first then realized that she poured her heart out for nothing in return and she realized he was not the one for him then she had this wife that was very secretive and that died and did a bunch of bouncing around when she was alive. And this is related to my topic of migration because of the fact that her wife X was migrating from place to place. I am going to use this source in my project by referring to X’s migration from place to place.
Leblang, David and Benjamin Helms. “Why do people migrate?” UVA Miller Center, 2023.
The authors of this article are professors at UVA and they wrote this article for people who are studying immigration. This article is about people migrating and it's talking about people like millions of people leaving their homes to go to a new one for whatever home they deserved and this is related to my topic of migration because of the fact that people are fleeing their country that would be considered migrating. I chose this topic because why do people have an issue with their home to the point that they are leaving. The source is reliable because it came from college professors who have the opportunities and resources to figure out stuff about this topic. I am going to use this source in my writing to help understand the motivations of immigration.
"Revealed: huge climate cost of harmful emissions from US immigration flights." The Guardian, 2025.
This source is talking about Trump and the ice administration which stands for immigration and customs enforcement. Trump is using ice to go around America to collect immigrants all around America to deport them by force. The issue with this because ice is taking all types of immigrants who are allowed to be here, people who are not allowed to be here and some more. Also this is an issue because of the fact that immigrants leave where they are from for all different types of reasons, especially the people who left for asylum. You are talking them from a safe place to bring back to a place that's not safe for them and their health. It's also an issue because they are breaking up families and they are talking to people who are actually citizens of the USA which is unconstitutional and not fair. This source is reliable because there are a lot of graphs and it’s from a well known center for journalism. I am going to use the information in my project because I learned about immigrants not always having safety even though they left to find more safety which relates to migration because they are leaving for a new beginning just to get migrated right back.
Russell, Alex. “How does immigration affect the United States?” UC Davis Magazine. 19 August 2024.
The author of this source, Alex Russell is a content strategist and writer. He wrote this article for Americans because he wanted them to know immigration is not good. The article argues immigrants are bad for the country and should not be here. One reason he gave is that immigrants fabricated America’s economy by taking up all the jobs and they’re mad and prejudiced against society. He says that they are just taking up space and taking the limited jobs and opportunities. From 1990-2004 immigrants increased their wages as much as 90% of native born workers. Although I disagree with his claim, I know this source is reliable because he’s a writer. I am going to use this information in my story to show why some people would be against immigration.
