I am a writer on a journey of self-discovery, enrichment, and actualization, leveraging written word as an ever-expansive, deeper mode of expression, enlightenment, connection and change. I want to see how far I can go- how creative I can get- how much meaning I can uncover and, convey, as well as how those things can help me grow in all the ways. For me, knowledge and experience are stars in the night sky, my life carrying me to and through various constellations. Meeting others shows me more and more of that sky as they relate their experiences and I relate mine. I remember the building of myself, composed of various traditions cobbled together from people I met, places I’ve been, media I consumed, forging these things to save me from my own loneliness and being unheard. As a writer of fantasy, horror, sci-fi, and afrofuturism, I am working on writing stronger stories—deeper in meaning, bolder in messaging, and more refined and intricate in quality. Specifically, I am fleshing out models of the interconnectedness of humanity, all its beautiful and ugly parts, and provides perspective on how we should interact.
