Shopping list items (item names, quantities, store names) you add by voice or text
Your first name (only if you create or join a household used to label who added an item)
Household code (a 6-character code you generate or enter to share your list)
Information We Do NOT Collect:
We do not collect your email address
We do not collect your phone number
We do not collect your location
We do not collect your contacts
We do not collect your real name or any identification documents
We do not require account creation, passwords, or sign-in
We do not track which other apps you use
We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA)
VOICE INPUT
When you use the voice input feature, your speech is processed by Apple's on-device Speech Recognition framework. Your voice recordings are NOT sent to our servers and are NOT stored. We only receive the resulting text (the words you spoke).
HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use the information you provide ONLY to:
Save your shopping list on your device
Sync your shopping list between you and the members of your household (if you choose to share)
Send a push notification when a household member adds a new item
WHERE YOUR DATA IS STORED
On your device: Your shopping list is primarily stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData framework.
In the cloud (only if you join or create a household): When you create or join a household, your shopping items are synced via Google Firebase Firestore so other household members can see them. Items are stored under a generic household code with no personally identifying information.
DATA SHARING
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your information with any third party for marketing or advertising purposes. The only third party involved in our data processing is Google Firebase (for household sync), and only the data described above is sent there.
PUSH NOTIFICATIONS
If you grant permission, Got Milk sends you a local push notification when a household member adds a new item. Notifications are generated on your own device by reading the synced data. We do not send push notifications from our servers.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Got Milk is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app contains no advertising, no in-app purchases, and no user-generated content visible outside your household.
YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES
Delete your data: You can delete any shopping item at any time inside the app. Deletions sync to your household within seconds.
Leave a household: Open the Household tab and tap "Leave" to disconnect from the shared list.
Uninstall the app: Removing Got Milk from your device deletes all locally stored data.
Contact us: Email vancewarren57@gmail.com to request a copy of your data or full deletion of any cloud-synced items.
SECURITY
All data sent to Firebase Firestore is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption)
Firebase Firestore data is encrypted at rest by Google
Household codes are randomly generated and contain no personal information

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
