In Romans 5 Paul speaks about how that in the same way that sin came upon all people through one Adam, so righteousness came upon all people through one Adam. This is speaking about the corporate, or singular, nature of Humanity and it is speaking about the same corporate redemption as God was speaking about when he told the serpent in the Garden of Eden that the seed of the woman would come to crush his head, even while the serpent wounded him in the heel. As there was a first Adam who was the source of the Human Family, which is organically one, so there is this second head of the Human Family as it is claimed by God as his own for the sake of redemption.
When God declared to the serpent that the seed of the woman would come to crush its head in the very conflict that the serpent would wound his heel, God did this in the audience of the first man and the first woman. While this promise that God made was not made to them personally, they were being told in this way by God that this was Good News for what they were. If they were to believe what they heard, and there is every evidence that they did believe what they heard God telling the serpent, then right there and then God was re-creating who they were in transforming them from the sinners they were into believers in his redemption of Humanity. They would not be at the head of the new, redeemed Humanity, the seed of the woman would be at the head of that new Humanity, as it would be redeemed by him. But the first man and woman, as individuals, would be a part of that new Humanity. For in believing in the redemption of what they were, in believing in the redemption to be accomplished in the fulfillment of the word of God by the seed of the woman, the were themselves transformed into new creations. This is the mystery which can only be known and understood by those who believe this word of God.
When God called Abraham he gave the promise of the seed of the woman to Abraham and Sarah personally. Israel became God's claim upon Humanity for the purpose of redemption. Then Yehoshua the God-anointed seed of the woman, became the Bridegroom of Jerusalem, the head of the nation of Israel, when he was wounded unto death by the serpent, crushed the head of the serpent when God raised him from the dead, justifying his chosen Humanity for life. In this justification and redemption the first Adam, the man and the woman are saved, and all souls are saved who believe that God redeemed what they are, when he raised the Messiah of Israel from the dead, not counting his people's sins against them. Now, therefore, it remains only that this Good News of Israel and Her Messiah be made perfectly clear to all hearts and minds to the ends of the earth. And then the glory of God and of his Mashiach will be revealed in all creation. For there is no other life and no other power.
