The earliest record of the Parents and Citizens Association in Gosford is from April 19th, 1917, and the goal of its formation was to advocate for improved conditions at the school for it's students. Prominant locals, Alfred Ingram Chapman and his wife, Ella Hope Chapman served as President and Treasurer of the P&C respectively, from 1922 to 1931. Alfred Ingram was the son of W.J. Chapman, a teacher, who opened his first business in Gosford in 1881. He was an active and prominent member of the community, and assisted in raising the profile of the school. The P&C Association has a long history of serving the students, staff and community of Gosford Public School, a legacy which continues to this day.
Each year at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in March, P&C Executives and Leadership Committee members are elected – volunteer parents who are willing to take leadership positions in the P&C.
