I absolutely love my GoPro! I carry it just about everywhere now. I have been following it in the news for some time thinking about the various uses I could apply it towards but never jumped on it because I was always working on everything else. Poc made a few good points in their review which lead me to start thinking further and then we had a vacation coming up, and then I went back and saw it was one of the few things they ever rated a full 10 stars and...ya, I bought it. Buyer beware! I bought a silver 3+ but this applies to the black as well.
Worked great for a couple weeks. Now it shuts off randomly anywhere from a few seconds to 20 minutes into a recording. Resolution doesn't matter. Now check the forums and see that this problem is YEARS old. So you could get a dud like I did. No response from Gopro, been 4 days by email. I went to their site where the have a page dedicated to this exact problem. Tried all the cure alls. Several different high end cards.This is a machine that is a dud, like 5% of all gopros.Oh yeah you can't take it back for an exchange- Gopro policy's customer first satisfaction, well, that's a myth. Hopefully I will be able to send it back (customer first- I pay the shipping). But in the mean time a big disappointment and what an expensive waste of time.

I had a GoPro hero+ LcD and upgraded to this hoping it would solve a major issue I used to have but it has continued making me believe it is a firmware/GoPro issue. Can someone please confirm if this is a known issue?

I just got the GoPro 7 black because of the review and comments of someone that has both the Garmin Virb ultra 30 and the hero 7 that said the GoPro is better for video quality and in other aspects. I have been waiting for decent stabilization for 4k for a while now. The Virb is so shaky on the motocross tracks. Do you know if my Garmin Fenix 5 watch would bed more accurate for speed and GPS tracking than the GoPro 7 black?

Different tool, different purpose. A gopro is a so called action camera, designed to be easy to operate, not need attention during recording, easily mounted on your body or sporting equipment or on a vehicle, and resilient under harsh environmental conditions.
