In Religion all three Forms will start the year by learning about the Sacred Heart Devotion as outlined by Bishop Chylinski in a letter to the Catholic Schools dated April 15, 2026. Bishop Chylinski quotes Pope St. John Paul II when he says, “In the Sacred Heart, every treasure of wisdom and knowledge is hidden. The Heart of the Lord Jesus is the starting-point of the holiness of each one of us.” This quote summarizes our entire year together;  all three Forms will study deeper the Most Sacred and Eucharistic Heart of Christ. 

Form 1:

• Gospel of John’s Bread of Life discourse

• Gospel of Luke’s Road to Emmaus and the Liturgy of the Eucharist

• The Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit

• Eucharistic Adoration hymns and prayers such as “O Salutaris Hostia,” “Tantum Ergo” and “Holy God We Praise Thy Name.” Prayers will include The Divine Praises, The Angelus, and Regina Coeli

Form 2 

• The Road to Emmaus

• Covenant history in the Holy Bible: Adamic Covenant - Eucharistic Covenant

• History and meaning of the Our Father, Hail Mary and the Apostles Creed

• Eucharistic hymns and prayers (see Form 1), plus the “Salve Regina” and the Anima Christi

Form 3 

• Eucharistic Types in the Old Testament: Abel the Just, Abraham, and Melchizedek 

• Twenty-eight day retreat published by the Archdiocese of Baltimore on the Eucharist

•  Apologetics:  The papacy, Mary the Mother of God, Confession, statues and images, relics, Holy Orders, infant Baptism, salvation, Purgatory, and Tradition

All three Forms will be taught in an age appropriate and engaging way that will encourage them to reflect deeply on the Eucharist and our Church history.
