We are coming to the end of our visit to Italy & Sicily...I thought I would share a few pictures before I head back to Canada. Here is the Amalfi Coast, the Isle of Capri and a Vineyard outside of Rome. We have had a fantastic time touring these countries, and our guide Giovanna has been just amazing! We were not affected by the earthquake that did some damage in Northern Italy.
We are home from Italy and Sicily - what a wonderful tour with a really great group of people. Italy is spectacular! The vineyards are beautiful, the land scape is the same and what magnificent art and architecture, Roman ruins, palaces and castles. We dined in a castle near Sienna, had dinner and music in the beautiful Tuscan hills, enjoyed a visit to an Olive farm, visited the beautiful Isle of Capri, were serenaded on the gondala’s in Venice while sipping Champagne, saw the beautiful David and the works of Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci and rubbed shoulders with the locals! Our overnight ferry ride from Italy to Sicily was pleasant, and Sicily was in full bloom with its many, many gorgeous flowers and trees - and the scenery throughout Sicily is really very beautiful. Our visits to the Norman Cathederal in Palermo, the acropolis at Selinunte, and our visit to Mount Etna made our visit complete.
Just wanted to share with you a beautiful note and picture that I received from Paulette:
Thank you Donna for a most wonderful trip. You and Giovanna did such an outstanding
job. All the extra work that was put into the trip was so much appreciated. I downloaded
my pictures onto the computer this morning and just looking at some them brought tears
to my eyes. Such a thrill that I actually got to see and do all these things just overwhelms
me. Thank you again. The picture just about sums it up for me, welcoming cyprus trees, old
buildings, flowers and trees everywhere, stupendous views and blue blue sky.
