- Once the scope of a project is discerned, I will assess a fair price estimate based on the requirements. A standard NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) will protect your ideas and is necessary to move forward with sensitive information.
- An initial Q&A via phone conversation or Skype will get the project moving in the right direction. Asking the correct questions up front will avoid setbacks further along in the design process.
~What is the fundamental function of your product?
~What material/processes will be used to make your product? What is the most logical manufacturing solution?
~What color/texture/hardness will the product be?
~How many parts do you intend on manufacturing?
- A conceptual understanding of a project is all that I require to get started on the design process. I take a creative and iterative approach to providing a design that customers can be proud to move forward with. In this, communication and partnership are key! I use Solidworks and Unigraphics/NX 3D modelling software to model and document products.
- It is often necessary to 3D print prototypes to fully understand the details of a design. I own and utilize a quality 3D printer to streamline the design process and help customers visualize the design intent. This will be an invaluable asset to your product and will save a lot of time and money involved with revising final manufacturing processes.
- If required, I document all technical information required to manufacture the product and acquire a patent.
