This Privacy Policy describes how Golf Grind ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring your personal data and golf performance statistics remain secure and under your control.
When you use Golf Grind, we collect information that is necessary to provide you with advanced golf tracking, strokes gained analytics, and swing analysis:
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, handicap index, and preferred scoring settings.
Golf Performance Data: We collect and store data you input into the App, including hole-by-hole scores, shot tracking, putts, penalties, custom golf courses, tournament rounds, and practice notes.
Swing Studio Media: If you use our Video Analysis / Swing Studio features, you may record or import video clips of your golf swing. These videos and any telestrator drawings/annotations are processed on your device and stored in your private cloud account. We do not access, scan, or use your swing videos for advertising purposes.
Usage Analytics & Crash Reporting (Optional / Consent-Gated): To improve app stability and user experience, we use Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics. If you grant permission, we collect anonymous usage events (such as screen views, round completions, and feature interactions), device metadata (operating system, device model), and diagnostic crash stack traces if the app encounters an unexpected error.
We use the information we collect strictly to operate and improve Golf Grind:
Core Functionality: To calculate your Strokes Gained benchmarks, generate your Playstyle spider web, render performance charts, and track your career progression over time.
Cloud Synchronization: To securely back up your round history and settings so you can access your golf career across multiple devices.
App Stability & Performance: To debug technical issues, monitor API service health, and fix app crashes (using anonymized diagnostic data).
We operate under a strict privacy-first architecture in accordance with GDPR, CCPA, and global privacy standards:
Disabled by Default: All usage tracking, telemetry, and crash reporting are strictly disabled by default. We do not collect analytics data until you explicitly grant consent through our in-app prompt.
Your Right to Withdraw Consent: You have total control over your data. You can enable, disable, or withdraw your telemetry consent at any time by navigating to Settings → Usage Analytics inside the App.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, golf statistics, or swing videos to third-party advertisers, data brokers, or marketing companies.
We only share data with trusted infrastructure service providers (such as Google Firebase) strictly for secure cloud hosting, authentication, and optional diagnostic reporting required to run the App. All data transmitted between your device and our cloud infrastructure is encrypted in transit using industry-standard SSL/TLS encryption.
Data Retention: We retain your golf data for as long as your account is active so you can track long-term trends in your golf game.
Account & Data Deletion: You have the right to access, export, or permanently delete your data at any time. You can delete your account and all associated performance data directly within the App by going to Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by contacting our support team. Upon request, all associated records will be permanently erased from our servers.
Golf Grind is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 where applicable by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete that information immediately.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time as we add new features or comply with updated legal regulations. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top. For material changes, we may also provide an in-app notification.
