This app teaches French through dialogues and short stories. It is free and funded by advertising. It requires no account: no name, no email address, no password, no phone number.
1. What stays on your device
Your progress — completed lessons, day streak, points, words due for review, mistake notebook, unlocked content — is stored only on your phone. We cannot see it and it is never uploaded. Uninstalling the app deletes it permanently.
2. What is collected
Service Data Why
Google AdMob Device advertising ID, IP address, device type, ad interactions To show the ads that fund the app
Firebase Analytics Anonymous usage events (lesson completed, practice finished), approximate level, device model, country, installation ID To learn which lessons work and which are abandoned
Firebase Crashlytics Crash reports: device state at the time of the crash, Android version, stack trace To fix crashes
Firebase Remote Config Installation ID To adjust app settings without an update
This data does not identify you personally, and it is never sold or traded.
3. Microphone
Conversation mode and the pronunciation exercise use the microphone to compare what you say against the expected text. The microphone turns on only while you hold or tap the record button. Speech recognition is Android's own: depending on your device and settings it may run offline or go through Google's servers under Google's privacy policy. We keep no audio recordings — only the recognised text is compared, in memory, and then discarded.
4. Ads and consent
Ads are served by Google AdMob. If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, a consent screen appears on first launch and you choose between personalised and non-personalised ads. You can change that choice at any time under Profile → Privacy and data → Privacy settings.
You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings → Google → Ads.
How Google uses data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
5. Notifications
The app can send a daily review reminder. It requires your explicit permission, which you can withdraw at any time in Android settings.
6. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data. Ads are limited to general-audience content.
7. Your rights
Because we hold no personally identifiable data, there is nothing for us to delete: uninstalling the app removes everything about you. For data held by Google, see policies.google.com/privacy.
8. Changes
If anything changes, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it.
