The server has history created by real players since 2013. Anybody can make a difference, have a legacy, and change the world forever. It has now become a focused serious RP server due to the fact that the focus was unclear and the purely survival and progression crowds were conflicting with the pure RP one. Due to our history and staff, roleplay focus has taken priority. Now if you wish to join, please go to our discord and explain who you are, your interests, and any history with RP servers, Dungeons and Dragons, or just about anything RPG related. With 112 mods (on client) in a stable build, as well as custom items and more, the possibilities are endless. How will you rise to power? Will you invent devastating technologies, bend reality through magic, or both together? Perhaps you will simply join others in an army or faction in the fight for control and conquest of this world? Or, just be a simple farmer if you like. This is basically a heavily modded RP server, nothing special. You can pretty much play almost any character you like, just run it by us on Discord first.
The pack is a crazy blend of genres, sci-fi, fantasy, steampunk, you name it. You can join and play whatever kind of character you like. Express your interests and change the story how you like. Good luck in your adventures.
My Goal and vision for this server is to create a world brought to life by it's players, one that can and is used as a medium to tell stories. I want people to have impactful experiences and to think. My wish is for the playerbase of this server to be creative and to bring about outcomes that even I could not have foreseen. A fairly heavily modded RP server with the tools for anyone to express themselves and play how they wish.
NOTICE: Much of these instructions are likely Windows specific, I have not acquired much experience with Macs, and therefore I don’t know how much of this is relevant on both operating systems, let alone others such as Linux. Follow as much of this as you can. However, anything you absolutely cannot find on those other operating systems is unfortunately up to you. You may have to hit the books, (Or the Google) and do some research on how to do some of the actions explained on your operating system. If you use anything other than Windows, I wish you the best of luck.
Pre-setup:
Be sure you have bought Minecraft for the Computer/PC(Now called "Java edition", NOT Windows 10 or "Bedrock") edition. Also, you will likely suffer a lot of issues and laggy performance if you do not use 64-bit Java on your computer. Without 64-bit Java, you cannot allocate sufficient memory to Technic, and Minecraft will constantly crash and run out of memory as a result.
You can get 64-bit Java here: https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
It is under the "Windows" sections, called "Windows Offline (64-bit)
Step One:
Go to http://www.technicpack.net/ and download the Technic Launcher. More information, and proper official instructions can be found there.
Step Two:
Once the Technic Launcher is properly installed and set up, please get my modpack
( http://www.technicpack.net/modpack/craftverse-rpg.821464)
Make sure to click "Launcher Options" in the top right of the launcher, then select "Java Settings" from the tabs at the top of the new window. From there, make sure to allocate sufficient memory to technic to ensure that the pack can run. This has been reported to be somewhere around 2-3 GB from users, but try different amounts of memory and see what works best. If you cannot allocate more than 1 GB of ram, then that means you do not have 64-bit java. In this case, go back to pre-setup and read it again.
Step Three:
Install and run the "Goldforge Online" modpack. It may seem that nothing happened at first, but a window will open. This window might stop responding, but simply wait and allow it to do it's thing. Eventually a loading screen for Minecraft 1.7.10 will show up, wait for it to finish loading and open the Minecraft main menu. If it is stuck loading, or has a ludicrously slow/long loading time, this means that you have not allocated enough memory to the Technic Launcher to handle the initial first-time launch. It has been shown that the first time the game is launched on a computer takes forever to load, but then it is a lot better any time after that.
Step Four:
Once you are on the Minecraft main menu, finally click “Multiplayer”. Then click “Add server”.
In order to keep out bots, web-crawlers, and unwanted visitors, the server information is not posted here. The server will come pre-listed in the server list with the pack.
Step Five:
Once that is typed in, click “Done”. Unless the server is down (It is a 24/7 server, something is wrong or the server is under maintenance.), it should show a description, a player-count, some connection bars, and a checkmark. Select this server, and either double click it or select it and click “Join Server”. If all goes well, you will load properly and find yourself at the world spawn.
