The Warriors kick off a three-game roadtrip in Houston on Wednesday in a rematch of the 2019 Western Conference Semifinals which the Warriors won 4-2. Fresh off a 4-0 homestand, the Warriors are looking to keep their five-game winning streak in tact as they take on the Rockets, who sit atop the Western Conference standings at 6-1. While the organizations themselves remain unchanged, the rosters for each squad is markedly different. Due to injuries and departures, the Warriors have relied on a nine-man rotation, getting key contributions from rookies and new faces, like D'Angelo Russell and Alec Burks.
On the other end of the court, the Rockets starting five features eight-time All Star guard Russell Westbrook, who was acquired in a deal that sent Chris Paul to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Stephen Curry led the Warriors to their fourth straight win, a 85-80 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers. In a defensive battle, Curry led the Warriors with 26 points to go along with five rebounds and seven assists. After inching his way back into shape through his first few appearances, Cauley-Stein erupted on Monday night. His 15 points came on 7-for-10 shooting from the floor and his 18 rebounds proved vital in protecting the paint for an undersized Warriors team going up against Hassan Whiteside. Through four games, Cauley-Stein is shooting 19-for-23 (82.6%) from the floor, providing a much needed scoring punch inside.
