Years ago, precisely in 2021, one build of GoldenEye 007 for Xbox 360 leaked online with redone textures and 3D models, pretty well done and nice gameplay, with 60 FPS support and even 21:9 screen ratio optional. Today I downloaded the GoldenEye official for my Xbox One expecting something similar to it, knowing that it wasn't this build for sure (obviously), but damn... It looks so worse! 30 FPS? Flickering textures? It almost looks like emulated if it wasn't a 3d model of a xbox controller inside the smartwatch.

Switch, despite initial impressions, runs more slowly than Xbox with frequent frame-rate dips and unstable frame-times. Again, it's faster than the N64 original, but not as stable as it should be. This is particularly galling when the unreleased Xbox 360 versions offers a completely locked 60fps in all modes.

Game development costs gradually increased,[7][30] and Nintendo did not provide Rare with more capital nor did they purchase the company's remaining stake. The Stampers were surprised that Nintendo did not directly acquire the studio.[31] Rare looked for potential buyers.[32] In early 2000, workers from Activision and Microsoft began visiting Rare with purchase offers.[33] According to Microsoft's Ed Fries, Nintendo, Activision, and Microsoft then became embroiled in a bidding war for ownership of Rare. Rare expressed interest in Activision's offer, but Microsoft offered more money.[34] On 24 September 2002, Microsoft purchased Rare for $375 million (~$586 million in 2022).[35][36] Rare became a first-party developer for Microsoft's Xbox. Character trademarks from games developed by Rare for Nintendo consoles, such as Conker of Conker's Bad Fur Day and Banjo of the Banjo-Kazooie series, were retained by Rare; intellectual property created by Nintendo, such as Donkey Kong and Star Fox, were retained by Nintendo.[37] This left Donkey Kong Racing, due for release for the GameCube, unreleased.[1][38] 30 employees left Rare during the transition.[11]

Persistance pays. Thank you Rare!

Looking forward to playing it on xbox with higher res/smoother framerate. I hope they've sorted out the controls too. All this could make the game really enjoyable rather than just pure nostalgic enjoyment

Absolutely loved this game as a fresh out of high school kid, played the funnest marathon sessions with my friend & my bro. Still have the cartridge & my N64 in storage. But this release is exactly what I expected: Dated.? Really wished they could have secured us the unreleased Xbox 360 version of this instead.? 17dc91bb1f
