The season is over!

We will continue running the event in a week or two but it will not be streamed

What is Friday night brawl?

Friday Night Brawl is a weekly event where we put crews to the ultimate test by asking one question:

What if a ship on your team was a traitor?

  • 1 ship on each team will be deemed the traitor ship. The ship name must be preceded by a [T] if the game is not Secret Traitor (see below)
  • This ship's captain is tasked with screwing up the match for their team through antics such as
    • Running into battle
    • Ramming teammates into terrain or out of arc
    • Using mine launchers, tar, and flare guns to inflict friendly fire
    • Not repairing anything
    • Not doing anything
  • Traitors are not allowed to suicide their ships into the terrain
  • The traitor crews are free to choose wether or not they would like to join their captain as traitor
    • This means a captain can be a traitor with a crew that is playing normally, which means the captain also needs to make it harder for the crew to be in arc and inflict damage on the enemy team
    • The captain can leave the helm at their own risk to use guns but a crew member could take the helm
  • Winning: The team that wins the match gets to say they did the best job at putting up with their traitor but the traitor ship/crew on the other team is the real winner of the match
  • The Challenge: Can you put up with treason? One captain from each team has an identity crisis and decides they like the color of the other team better. Can the teams power through or will the traitor get the best of them?
  • Secret Traitor: If the match size is 3v3 or larger, the captain and crew of the traitor ship will be DMed they are the traitor once the match starts.

The final Match

For the final match, we choose a ruleset submitted by YOU. Unlike Chaos Skirmish where some organization is necessary in order to run a smooth event, we will try anything. Rulesets that are hard to enforce and extremely specific are encouraged. We will try anything we think has the potential to be fun.

When?

We do the every Friday starting in June and ending in August. We do this season format because hosts and players alike get busy outside of the summer months.

The event is at 8:30 PM MT (click to convert to your local time zone) on Twitch and in-game. There are 2 to 4 rounds.

Who?

Squizit is the host of the event and the Twitch caster of the event. The event is also usually co-casted by well-known GOIO team member and streamer Lasanya along with various members of the Squizit Gaming team. Squizit gaming can be found in-game in the Right Chevron [»»»»] clan.

How do I participate?

Make sure to use the links above to join our steam group, follow our stream, and join our Discord. All of the updates for each week will be posted on the GOIO forums as well.

When the time comes, you should be watching the stream. This will be the first place where we release the password to get into the match. To join the match, click Play from the main menu, then Match List and from there look for the match that says Squizit under the name of the current map. You will be asked to enter the match password we released on the stream and in the chat. If you need the password, ask someone in the game chat or Twitch chat. You can also click on anyone who is advertising the match in the chat and click Join Crew. If you can't get in, we're full.

Please keep the stream audio up while you are in the GOIO lobby because we will be explaining the rules in detail on the stream.

Event Rules

Captains and crew must be aware of both the text chat during the matches. Crew should be helpful to the captain and inform them when they are breaking rules, as this will benefit the ship and team. Players must be compliant within the lobby when rules are explained and are encouraged to ask any questions to minimize any confusion over the sometimes very confusing rulesets. Obey the GOIO official community guidelines. Other then that, have a good attitude and have fun!
