Mission Statement
The purpose of the Grand Oaks Fishing Team is to teach and encourage students to enjoy the sport of fishing. The fishing team consists of students from beginning to advanced level anglers. The fishing team provides students with the opportunity to make memories and expand the angler’s knowledge and experience in the sport of fishing.

We are happy to have you as part of our team! Our team is a group of dedicated anglers and families who cheer each other on...before, during, and after tournaments.
The Grand Oaks Fishing Team is committed to shaping students’ lives and instilling a rich appreciation for the art of fishing. While on the team, you will strengthen friendships, gain confidence, and learn the value of teamwork. Our team members also develop strong communication skills, as well as acquire a deeper understanding of fishing.
As an angler on our team, you will learn the importance of attitude, ability, academics, and accountability as well as the role they play in your success. This handbook will serve as a guide for you and your family while on the team. Like any successful organization, structure and communication are critical. The policies laid out in the handbook will assist you with questions and expectations.
We are always here to help and assist you whenever needed. It’s going to be a great year, and welcome to the GOHS Fishing family!

Objectives
The Grand Oaks High School Fishing Team is an integral part of school life and is recognized as a UIL activity. The Fishing Team, which was established in 2021, is a visible student organization on campus, and its members consistently project a positive representation of their community.
Our main objective is to serve our student anglers with the following opportunities for the duration of their membership:
Educational - to foster life-long learning inside the classroom as well as outside, in nature.
Leadership - to foster exceptional personal values through the emphasis of teamwork and integrity.
Service - to foster community relationships while promoting and enhancing the reputation of Grand Oaks High School at all appearances.
Recreational - to provide student anglers with an emotional outlet and quality social experiences.
